Chapter 2 Hate Me

After the conversation with Camila I called my parents and told them the news.They were more than happy to know I was going back to California.But I knew one person that would not be so upbeat about it.

"Hey Ed"The taller man stood at my presence

"Hi Miss.Jauregui how are you doing today"

"Well I'm okay, uhm come to my office we need to talk"

"Am I in trouble Lauren?"

"No, unless you don't take my offer"

"Oh okay"he said following me into the bigger office.Once the door closed and we both sat I had to think of how to properly put all my thoughts into words.

"Edward I have a proposition for you that will benefit not only you but the company"

"So both of us "

"Yes"

"What is it "

"Well I've decided that it is best for the company for me to go to California and work closer with the Cabello agency"

"What why would you leave your whole life is here Lauren"He seemed more upset than I hoped

"New York is great,but going back to California and talking all the business that I did just changed things for me"

"I'm guessing it didn't go well with Victoria"

"You are guessing right but Camila,well Camila offered that I go for a few months and if i feels it is better for me here or there then I will choose"

"That she devil demanded you to do this hu"he said slamming his hand on the desk

"No Edward she didn't force me to do anything I decided that I will go and while I do , I want you to be in charge you're the only one I trust enough"

"I would love to do it Lauren but you know I can't let you go" he said in a tone I had never heard him talk to me before

"Edward you will have help,I'll be calling you every day if you need it"I said not understanding why he wouldn't take the position

"What are your parents going to think"

"They know they are on board"

"Aren't we a couple to them Lauren this doesn't look good"he said standing from his chair

"Why does that matter we can work apart plus I want to come out to them I'm tired of this"I said not really sure if I'd do what I just said

"So things went well with Victoria after all?"

"No they didn't she's seeing somebody else "

"What already I didn't even-"

"That's why I'm leaving Edward because she Fucken cheated on me are you happy now!"I said standing from my own chair now walking towards the big glass window.

"I'm sorry Lauren I-"

"I need to go Edward, for me,for the company, I need to leave his baggage here and go"

"I understand"he said getting closer to me "I'm sorry about that okay I uhm I will do my best here for you okay?"

"Thank you"I said giving him my attention again

"I just need you to know something"he said nervously biting his lip

"Well come out with it wont you" he took even longer to talk as if thinking about every outcome of what would change from the words he was about to speak
