Chapter 1 Open Up

"You okay Lauren?"the whole plane ride I had been silent, I couldn't stop think about Camila if I was honest.I thought I had left all the feelings I had of her behind years ago. I guess I was wrong.

"Yeah just trying to think of what I'm going to tell Veronica"I said sitting up on the uncomfortable plane chair

"Mhm, well your parents like me?"

"I don't know if that's good or bad, I need to stop being so damn scared and come out with it, I know my dad won't be angry about it but I doubt my mom will come around"

"Yeah she seems on the more conservative side of things "

"Catholic Latina moms are no joke"

"I learned that with the little time I was there, with her plain eyesight she had me doing whatever she wanted"he said chuckling

"Believe me i did whatever she wanted running if not anything within her reach was a weapon"

"That's funny "he said chuckling
"Thank you for trusting me though I appreciate it"

"No thank you Ed it's not easy doing what I ask of you, you're a real one"

"I'm just a good friend"

"A great one"

"Well this si the end of the road Jáuregui" Edward said as he opened the taxi door for me

"Thank you but can you wait I'll be taking my bags but I need to talk to Victoria it really can't wait"

"Alright tab is running so hurry "

I grabbed my bags and pushed them into the front of my door and ran back to the taxi.

"Thanks"

"No problem"

"Any idea of what you're going to say "

"No im hoping she'll be calmer now"

"Well at least her house isn't that far because if things go bad you're walking for a long time

"Don't be so negative"

"I'm just your reality check"we both laughed at the irony of Edward my beard talking about reality check

"Okay thanks I'll see you tomorrow I hope in the afternoon"I said winking

"Good luck"I closed the taxi door and walked up to Victoria's apartment,her light was on so that was a good sign, as I got closer I heard the slow music playing, I took a deep breath before getting the nerve to knock on the dark brown door.

I guess the music was too loud because she wouldn't answer the door.I knocked again this time a little louder. I waited for a couple seconds until I heard footsteps coming towards the door.

The door slightly opened I could only see Victoria's eyes.

"Lauren?"

"Hi babe" I said smiling,she seemed like she seen a ghost."Are you going to invite me in or?"

"I just uhm-I thought you weren't coming until tomorrow and my apartments a mess"

"Oh come on babe it's fine I-"

"Lauren please I need space I can't do this right now-"she said still holding the door to where I could only see half her face

"Okay,I just wanted to apologize and uh-"

"We can talk tomorrow Lauren,Goodnight"and like that she shut the door in my face.I stood there for a second shocked that this was what Victoria wanted.I began to walk downstairs as the cold wind hit my face her door opened again.This time she was more composed in a robe.

"Lauren"I turned my body to give her my full attention "look I know this is hard for you but this secret isn't me, I won't continue to do that,maybe we should just leave it at that"

"Are you breaking up with me?"my heart begun to sink into my stomach as she stared at me lost in her head as well

"I don't know, Lauren I just need time"she said walking back into her apartment,this time I didn't wait for the door to close,I continued to walk.My apartment being a 15 minute walk.I held my coat closer to me as the rough wind began to make my face cold.My pocket began to vibrate I quickly reached for it hoping Victoria had changed her mind but the number that appeared shocked me even more.

"Camila?"

"How was your flight"

"It was good I made it back safely so good"

"I'm glad you answered"she sounded weary

"Yeah,why wouldn't I"

"It's just uhm,well I really want you to take the California thing into consideration, I'll have any accommodation you want from me Lauren, I know with you in California both our companies will grow"

"Camila thank you but I have a life here and well my relationship,I'm trying to fix it "

"Didn't you and Edward leave happily?"

"Uhm well, maybe you were right my relationship isn't necessarily with Edward I mean I do have one with him but it's ah complicated"I don't know why I lost my walls with her , why I could be honest with her knowing she wouldn't judge me, I hated myself for it but I felt vulnerable 

"Look I understand Lauren but I really think you should give this a try"

"I have to think about it Camila"I could hear her getting frustrated and was preparing myself for her to go off on me or even threaten me

"Oof okay Lauren uhm well I'll give you time, just consider it?"the almighty Camila Cabello as tender as could be,it was almost shocking to hear her like this

"I'll consider it"

"Thank you,uhm have a goodnight"her voice already sounded more upbeat, but I really couldn't consider anything until I knew what was my future with Victoria.

I would've wanted to say that I got good sleep, and had time to think about what I would do to fix things between Victoria and I but I couldn't sleep.It was 5AM and I couldn't stop rolling around my bed.In that moment I knew I had to get up and do something.I showered and changed as quickly as I could.Picking up flowers from the only shop that was open at this hour.I began to walk to Victoria's apartment which thankfully wasn't far from the shop.As I reached her building I saw her door open,I smiled as I saw her face but she didn't see me she was too focused on something else.On somebody else.I walked closer to see if what I was looking at was right. The tall man caressed her face before leaning in and kissing her.This is why she didn't want to talk last night because she had him with her.The tears swelled my eyes and began to blurt my vision.Yet I saw as she watched the man get into his car and drive away until I got into her vision.Her face expression changed but she changed what I felt inside of me.From sadness to anger.I dropped the flowers on the floor and began to walk away.There was no future for Victoria and I, I didn't need to consider anything I knew what I had to do. I picked up my phone and dialed the only person I needed to talk to right now.

"Hi, Camila?"
