park jimin is cross-legged and on his mattress, flyers and job applications scattered across his closet-sized bedroom.

consumed with debt after graduating, the young man spent what little he had left after paying the mountain of bills he had lined up, devouted to finishing the last transactions to pay off his student loans.

he had only recently quit his job after receiving little to no wages, and consumed with the survival instinct to not just live off 7-11 kimbap rolls, park jimin spent the last 3 months after moving to seoul scouring everywhere for a job.

he had previously applied for a modeling gig, and had been denied an offer due to his stature (honestly, 176 is not that short). he worked 3 months in a fried-chicken store, but was fired after he let one of the chickens free from it's impending death.

he clicks his tongue against his teeth, tossing a form he had applied for a couple weeks ago into the plastic bag hanging off the doorknob in the corner of the room, the crumpled ball of paper bouncing off the knob and toppling to the floor.

jimin is in the midst of filling up another form he picked up a few days ago when his phone vibrates, indicating the arrival of a new message. when he doesn't go to check it, his phone vibrates a few more times before repeated calls are sent out to him. he groans, setting his blue gel pen down before checking the caller ID. he picks up wordlessly, his eyebrows furrowed and his lips pressed into a fine line.

"FINALLY YOU PICK UP, DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I CALLED AND TEXTED YOU?" the female voice at the other ends screams, spiting out her words like rapid-fire.

"m'sorry, thought it was just some spam calls." he quietly answers, his satoori distinct. "you could at least check. honestly i don't know why i bother sometimes." she mutters, silently rambling on. "look, i'm extremely busy right now," jimin sighs, running his free hand through greasy strands of platinum blonde hair. "so if you called to yell at me, can you please do it next time?"

"dude, of course i have something for you." she deadpans. "is it a job?" jimin asks, the sarcasm clear in his tone. "as a matter of fact, yes. i have a job for you." she intones.
