SUMMARY
REMY STARK WAS INCREDIBLY AWKWARD, even more awkward when she was around people she had a crush on. She tended to ramble faster than a jet engine out of nervousness or when it came to Allie Pressman, out of love for the girl. Well, Remy didn't know if she would call it love but she's had a crush on Allie since the sixth grade and it hasn't gone away yet even after all the times Allie made it so obvious that she was straight and not into Remy like that whatsoever.
ALLIE PRESSMAN HAD BEEN BEST FRIENDS with Remy Stark since kindergarten and as much as she loved Remy, she was the most annoying person Allie had ever met. The girl was non-stop talking whether it was in class, when the two were hanging out, and even over text, Remy would never shut the fuck up, especially when it came to the strange smell in their town.
AFTER ALL THE KIDS ARE DROPPED OFF from the buses in their empty town, Cassandra offers that anyone who didn't want to be alone could come over to their house. Cassandra soon regrets that offer as Remy comes over and spends an hour talking about where the hell their parents could be and what could be going on. Allie, who Remy wouldn't leave alone, started to get very annoyed, so annoyed that in a moment of pure frustration, she kissed Remy, just to get her to shut up for a minute. Allie never factored in that she might possibly enjoy kissing her best friend.

— remy is constantly talking & rambling about anything & everything especially around allie since she has a huge crush on her which makes her nervous which makes her talk more
— basically after cassandra invites people over if they don't want to be alone, remy comes & pretty much just talks about why their parents are gone & where they could be & what's going on. allie gets annoyed & goes outside to get some peace & quiet but remy follows her & then allie finally kisses her after a couple minutes being outside with her bc she's annoying her so much
— the kiss isn't very long but both girls are like damn this is really nice
— REMY IS A LESBIAN
— after they kiss, there is some awkward silence but then allie is like "sorry, i just got really annoyed. i didn't mean to kiss you." then remy says the first text & allie says the second.
— there is definitely some romantic tension between the two of them after that & awkward hand brushing & eye contact
— remy shas a huge crush on allie but allie slowly develops her crush on remy after the kiss
— remy is a soft, talkative baby who deserves the world
