WARNING: Jikook in this book is heavy on the angst and doesn't represent their relationship in real life, so don't confuse this reality! In real life, Jimin and Jungkook share a loving close friendship that is beautiful and amazing!

Crying over a crush who cannot and never will love you is the most painful feeling, and one Jimin felt everyday since he met Jungkook.

It's not that Jungkook would ignore him all the time, but he would certainly do it more than necessary. He wouldnt just act like Jimin wasn't there, he would be blatantly harsh on him, making a joke out of Jimin's affection.

"Ew, don't touch me Hyung, that's gross!"

These words were ones that Jimin accepted. Despite the fact that Jungkook adoringly would hug all of his other hyungs, Jimin was always met with cold words and a look of annoyance.

He had to admit, it was painful. It made him feel like an outsider.

But Jimin was the type of person to not let things get to him, and so he managed to push away the feelings, and focus on his work. Focus on bts.

Jimin was lying in the bottom bunk of their dormitory's triple decker, the only place in the apartment that wasn't bustling with activity. He could hear the sounds of Taehyung singing in the shower, and it brought him comfort. There were downsides to sleeping in a room with six other men, but at times he preferred it. Living alone would be too lonely.

He stood up and changed from his workout clothes, rummaging through the shared dresser until he caught sight of his blue boxer shorts.

Slipping them on, he walked out to the living room and plopped beside Namjoon, who was reading a red paperback book and eating.

Jimin peered over Namjoon's shoulder and narrowed his eyes. "What are you reading?" Jimin asked snarkily as he scanned the page, irritated when he realized he understood none of what was on the page.

Namjoon responded without looking up.
"It's a novel called 'Almost transparent blue'. It's about music in the 1970's."

Jimin scrunched his brows at that.
"Sounds interesting."
He tried to sound enthusiastic.

Jimin peaked over at Namjoon's snack, which was wafers of some sort.

"Namjoon, when are we going to practice the choreography? The manager said we would a week ago,"Jimin asked quietly, not wanting to stress the already pressure ridden leader.

Namjoon looked at him.
"Soon, I'm sure. We just have to finish the revisions."

Jimin nodded, relaxing back onto the couch before a curt voice interrupted the silence.

"Do you really have to sloth around the house in nothing but your boxers?"

Jimin looked up to meet Jungkook's eyes, a look of disgust present on the younger boy's face.

Taehyung emerged from the bathroom across the room wearing his own pair of plaid boxers, hair still wet.

"Taehyung isn't wearing his either. Besides, you do that all the time." Jimin retorted, pretending not to be affected by the youngest's irritated tone.

Jungkook was adamant.
"Taehyung's in shape. And you seem to wear the smallest size possible."

Namjoon looked up.
"Jungkook, Jimin is your hyung. Try to have some respect."

Jungkook nodded, smiling softly at Namjoon.

"Sorry hyung, I will."

Namjoon nodded and returned his gaze to his book, missing the glare Jungkook pointedly shot at Jimin.

Jimin sighed. He was going to try and shed some of those extra pounds he had put on.

Things weren't always this way. In fact, Jungkook used to be much warmer with Jimin. They had known each other since before bts was even set to debut, and were friendly.

But for some reason, things changed after they began to train for debut. Jungkook would snap at Jimin when he fudged lyrics, or messed up choreography, and would constantly get on his back about keeping in shape.

But sometimes, things were good. Some days, Jungkook would allow Jimin to cuddle him, would flash him a bright smile, and tell him good job.

These days were the ones that set Jimin's heart on fire, and made his admiration turn to affection for the Maknae. These were the days that made him feel something stronger for Jungkook.

But these days were scarce, and more often was the constant ridicule and torment. Jimin was strong and knew that Jungkook didn't mean everything he said. But he still felt the humiliation burn his neck when he was shoved away yet again. It was painful, awkward, and overall hurtful.

It was even more confusing when Jungkook would continue to flip personalities on Jimin. One day being warm, sweet, innocent and kind towards Jimin. The next being the complete opposite. Sometimes pushing Jimin to the point of tears, only to completely ignore him for days afterwards.

Things were rough, and they were only going to get worse from there. Jimin didn't even know the half of what agonies faced him, and his already fragile self esteem was suffering worse than ever before.

That night, as Jimin struggled to fall asleep on the flimsy triple decker, he decided to not let Jungkook's harshness get to him. He was going to be strong, ignore the maknae's rude words, and focus on achieving musical perfection. For himself, for bts, and for the few fans they had. They would not disappoint, and Jimin would not back down. He would prove Jungkook wrong about him.

Even if it meant changing himself in every way; aesthetically, emotionally, physically, and mentally.
