*Cayton's POV*

Slipping out of bed quietly as I can, so I won't wake the sleeping angel, I step out of the room, phone in hand. I dial the number quickly as I enter the living room, far enough away that I won't have to worry about waking Macy up.

On the fourth ring, someone picks up.

"Hello?"

"Mom, I need your help."

Macy's birthday is today, and I want to do something special. The problem is that I have next to no idea what to do. Something romantic I guess. Which is why I need help. Running an entire pack of wolves? I can do that without a hitch. Being romantic? Not so easy.

"What is it dear?" My mother asks in her usual motherly tone. That tone is about to change though, I'm sure. I'm prepared to get an earful from her, considering this will be the first time she hears about me finding my mate.

"Well, I kind of need help planning a surprise for someone special..."

*Macy's POV*

Tami had insisted I wear a nice dress today, but she refused to tell me where we were going. She woke me up this morning with a big breakfast, and informed me that since I did oh-so-well yesterday and got permission to leave, we would be heading out soon. I was slightly disappointed when I woke up and Cayton was gone, but then I remembered he had to work and didn't know it was my birthday anyways.

I still had a goofy grin on my face as I got dressed. After I had convinced him to let me out today, we stayed in bed for the rest of the day, doing absolutely nothing. Well, there was some talking, but mostly kissing, and after I took a shower, I came in and he had already fallen asleep in my bed like the other night. That time however, I didn't hesitate to crawl in next to him.

Now, I'm admiring myself in the mirror, fussing over every little detail. Since I have no idea what we are doing, I don't want to be underdressed, but at the same time I don't want to overdress. I hope that what I have on is casual, but fancy, enough.

I'm wearing a cute blue sundress that flows to my knees, with a black half-jacket. My dark brown hair is in soft curls, and I even went a little crazy and put makeup on. I have a big 'no makeup during summer' rule I follow, but I thought What the heck? It's my birthday and I want to look good.

"Macy, you look amazing!" Tami gasps as she steps in. She herself is in a plain green ruffled tanktop and jean capris, looking far more casual than I am.

"Its not too much is it? I mean, you look pretty casual..."

"No, it's just perfect." I nod and do a once-over myself in the mirror, before following Tami out the room.

"So... are you going to tell me where we're going?" I question.

"Nope," she adjusts her white purse on her shoulder, then grabs my hand. "Now come on, Hunter is waiting in the car!"

*

"I had to get all dressed up to go to the mall?" I ask as we step out of the car. I feel out of place, considering that most of the girls around my age are in short-shorts.

"No, you had to get dressed up for part two. This is part one," Tami explains. I turn to Hunter and he just shrugs.

"Don't look at me; I'm just here to drive you ladies around. Happy birthday by the way." Over half-an-hour in the car with him and this is the first time I've heard him say it. I roll my eyes and mutter a thanks.

The first stop on my birthday trip is to get our nails done. Well, mine and Tami's anyways. We try, but Hunter refuses to get a pedicure. I get my fingernails painted in a blue that matches my dress with a white flower painted on the thumbs.
