She climbed up to her feet and curtseyed elegantly and looked up to him with glittering amber orbs.

"Greetings, your highness. I didn't expect I would see you here."

In truth, she'd been waiting at that spot for who knows how long just to stage this kind of set up. She knew that to get to his quarters, he needed to pass through there.

And what better and more romantic plot to stage than incidentally meeting there, right?

"You shouldn't stay here." was Casimir's cold voice and even then she still smiled happily and brightly.

In her mind, it translated to this, "It's cold out here. You shouldn't let yourself get cold."

"Ummm... Thank you for worrying about me, your highness. Also, thank you for always helping us out. Although it wasn't compulsory for you, you still lent a helping hand. Thank you so much."

"Mm."

"Oh umm.. your highness, I made some cookies. I was thinking of sharing it with Lady Sylveris but I couldn't find her. Maybe she went out with Lord Dalriada?"

What is this woman talking about? Isn't Adira in my room? Did she not tell her?

"But please don't worry about it, your highness! I know that Lady Sylveris and Lord Dalriada are just friends! Anyway, I'll give this to you. I hope you'll like it, your highness!"

She cried and then handed out the cookies she baked all night, trying again and again till she perfected it and picked the best out of the batch.

Casimir looked at the little pink pouch that contained the cookies and took it off her hands.

Iris' face brightened up as soon as she felt the pouch floating off her hands and saw Casimir checking them. She noticed him enjoying the cookies Adira made so tried to bake ones that looked like it but made a slight twist.

Instead of it being just chocolates on the surface, she placed nuts on it with the chocolates.

"Thank you." Casimir briefly said and turned around but not before saying. "You should return now."

She visibly blushed after hearing Casimir and smiled bedazzlingly. She knew the prince cared for her! Adira's only fooling herself thinking the prince was into her.

What the— I thought it would be a challenge to pull the prince away from her, but it turns out she does not have a tight hold on him, huh?

Well, it's not my fault if he suddenly flies out of your grasps, okay?

Iris thought as she watched the retreating back of Casimir and turned to head back to her own room. She was very happy with the turn of events and she skipped all the way back.

While on Casimir's end, he opened the door to his room and found Adira still sleeping with Heise in her arms, curled in his sleeping position.

The moment the door creaked open, Heise opened his eyes and looked at the newcomer before closing his eyes again. Not caring at all!

So it's just him.

I can tell you're thinking that, little Heise.

Casimir smiled gently before walking closer and tried to feel Adira's temperature. She looked a lot better than this morning so she should be fine.

"Did she drink and eat properly, Heise?" He asked.

Little Heise looked up to him and nonchalantly nodded his head before sleeping back again.

"Did she drink her medicine?"

Again, little Heise only nodded his head perfunctorily.

"Since my son guarded his mother properly, I have something for you. It's not as good as your mother's but it should be fine. Here." Casimir happily played as Heise's father.

The latter could care less since all that mattered to him was his mother but when he heard Casimir saying that he 'properly guarded his mother', he perked up and looked at Casimir happily.

He chuckled lightly before handing the sweets to Heise and the latter gobbled it in less than ten seconds.

"Was it good?" He asked.

Heise only turned his head and curled back into his sleeping position as if not hearing anything.

"I guess only your mother's cookies can make you happy as well, huh?"
