Recap:

As I lifted my hand to ring the doorbell, I wondered over the fact of why I was so desperate to see Damon. Just because we both now knew that we both shared feelings for each other didn’t mean that I had to make him the centre of my life. I’m only acting this way because he was injured because of me. I thought to myself. Clearly a reasonable excuse.

I shook my thoughts away as I pressed the doorbell, waiting anxiously for someone to answer the door hoping desperately that it would be Damon.

I got my wish.

Damon answered the door, a blank expression on his face probably due to the boredom of not being able to do anything because of his injuries. However his expression changed after he realised that I was the person on the other side of the door. A smile made its way across his face before morphing into a smirk as he lent against the door frame.

What now? Flashed through my mind as I took in his smirk.

I continued to look at him with caution because that smirk definitely meant that nothing good was coming, and his posture, that causal leaning against the door jamb? Yeap, he is definitely up to something. I thought to myself. But he does look good, really good. Good as in I want to lick every single square inch of his body until it is forever etched into my mind…yeap; good as in I’ve spent too much time around Damon and reading too many naughty novels. I felt myself blush at the direction that my thoughts had taken chastising myself to the moon and back, even more so when Damon’s smirk seemed to grow even larger than it already was.

“In that much of a hurry to see me?” Damon asked, his cocky smirk looking like it wasn’t going anywhere fast.

“What?” I asked confused. I’m here at his door and that’s what he says to me? What happened to my ‘Hello, how are you?’

“Babe, you didn’t even change your clothes.” He said laughing as my cheeks flushed in utter embarrassment. You could have taken five minutes to change your clothes Ellie, gosh. He’s gonna think that you’re obsessed or something with him.

“Oh my god.” I said, hitting my hand across my forehead. “Give me five minutes and I’ll go home and change.” I said, turning around to quickly go home, unable to believe that I had forgotten all about still being in my school clothes.

“I don’t think so.” Damon said grabbing my left wrist to halt my movements. I looked up at him again in confusion. Instead of seeing his smirk, his face was in a full blown smile causing me to be distracted for a few moments until he started talking again.

“You can change into some of my clothes.” He said as he pulled me closer into his body. I wrapped my arms around his waist, pulling myself closer, nuzzling into his chest slightly and breathing in his scent. I didn’t want to move from this spot ever. That was until he slightly grunted in pain. I jerked out of his grasp, a horrified expression on my face no doubt. I lifted my hand up to my mouth in disbelief that I had actually hurt him, even if it was by accident.

“Damon, I’m so sorry.” I whispered. I could feel tears starting to form in my eyes.

“Hey, it’s fine.” Damon said, pulling me back into his arms even with my resistance which I stopped as soon as I was close enough to do any more damage. “Look at me.” He said once his arms were firmly wrapped around my body. I couldn’t though. I felt his hand come under my jaw, lifting my head up so that my eyes met his. His clear hazel eyes held no pain or anger that I was expecting to find. They were calm pools of mixed greens and browns with occasional yellow flecks, presenting an emotion I was never expecting to see come out of his eyes in regards to anyone but his family, especially towards me. I had to be seeing things, reading into things that weren’t really there. There was no way that emotion is in regards to me.
