Never Let Go

One Year Later

Natasha and Clint ran through the damp, thick Madagascar rainforest. Natasha gripped onto a swing, eyeing her target, and flipping around the tree. She continued to chase her target, an old friend but new enemy. This was her first mission back from maternity leave. In which she had a boy, blonde hair and hazel eyes. A mixture of her and Steve and he grows beautifully. Not to mention, her son's name is Grant Roman Rogers. Grant as in Steve's middle name.

"Kinda like Budapest!" Clint yelled. Natasha smirked as she shot at her target, but the male quickly dodged. Clint turned another way, hoping to catch the male off guard. They were in a much different surrounding and they weren't in their territory anymore.

"Stark, got any sight on Mocho?" Natasha asked.

Tony flew above the rainforest, scaning through the thick canopy. He caught sight of Mocho, a russian spy from the KGB, and a old friend of Natasha's.

"Yeah, on your left!" Tony said swooling down to help Natasha and Clint. Thor, on the other hand, was with Maria and Wanda, waiting for their cue to help if matters get any worse.

"Mocho is leading us to a old KGB base. Natasha, do you think we need to call on the others?" Tony asked has he hovered just above the old KGB base.

Natasha knew how these people worked, they kill anything that proposes a threat.

"To get the job done faster, yes we should." Natasha suggested. Tony signalled Thor, who was already on his way towards Natasha and Clint, and he was followed by Wanda.

"Ah ha!" Vision was heard throughout everyone's coms. Once Natasha and clint reached the KGB base, they watched Mocho walk right in.

"What is it?" Clint asked.

Vision, who was miles away, was chasing another russian spy, Moni, who was also Natasha's enemy from the KGB. Which is why Natasha was practically leading this mission witj Tony.

"I caught Moni and now I'm on my way to put her in holding." Vision reported back. Natasha nodded with a smirk as Tony and Clint could see this mission did not bother her.

"Good job Vision. We'll call you if your needed any further." Natasha said. As Vision flew back to the United States, Natasha ordered the Avengers to meet up at the rainforests edge. Tony, Thor, and Wanda landed near Natasha as she gave put her orders.

"Their are big guns, plus scouts on the roof. Thor and Tony, you'll take those out. Wanda and me and Clint will head in, get to the control system, and shut it down. Also, how are Bucky amd Sam doing in Odessa?" Natasha asked Tony.

Bucky has been at Odessa for five years now and still doesn't know about Steve. But a situation has come up where they had to send Sam down and help. They've been there ever since and haven't heard a update in a couple of days.

"Nothing yet but don't worry." Tony chuckle through his mask. Natasha exhaled and nodded and everyone raced to their fighting areas. The rooftop guns went off and Tony and Thor dodged them easily. Natasha ran to the front door, and bashed it in, taking out the guards. Clint shot an arow down the hall, exploding that area. Wanda took care of the guards that followed behind Natasha and Clint. They, however, ran up the stiars. Around the corner were more guards that Natasha fought and also took down. But she could see the control system right ahead.

"I see the control system!" Natasha said.

"Power it off!" Thor yelled through the intercoms. Natasha looked at Clint who fired a explosive arrow at the controls. Boom, and the control systen exploded into a thousands little pieces. Natasha high fived Clint as they headed back down stairs. Wanda waited for them as she held Mocho in her grasp.

"Found him hiding." She said, pushing the man down on the ground.

"Nice work." Natasha smiled as she knelt down to face her fellow friend. He spoke russian, but only Natasha can hear.

"He's alive." Was all Mocho said before swallowing a pill Natasha didn't see. Wanda looked at Clint as they did not know what the russian spy said. Natasha, leanes back a bit. Taking deep breaths. Mocho had to be lying, Steve died awhile ago and Natasha finally gotten over Steve's death. Well, it hit easier on her.

"Let's go." Natasha mumbled, sitting up amd stomping off. Her red and blonde hair in a high ponytail flowed through the fall breeze. A Avengers queen jet landed in front of the destroyed KGB base and Tony and Thor waved from the inside. Maria smiled as she watched the two immature adults wave like children.

The back opened and everyone walked in. Within a few seconds, they sped off towards New York, back to the old Avengers tower. That's where the Avengers go every so often in case if enemies are targeting their head quarters in the countryside area in New York.

"Pepper has Morgan and Grant at the Tower in Steve's old sleeping quarter. Pepper turned it into a nursery." Tony said with much confidence. When Steve first died, it was hard on everyone to say his name. It was hard to talk about him. But as time passed, it got easier and easier. Now, when Steve's name is mentioned, it doesn't bother anyone. Not even Natasha.

But Thor still had the secret, the secret about Captain America. About where he is and when he's coming back. He hasn't told anyone, and plans not to. It's probably better to keep it secret. Thor gulped as Natasha smiled and nodded. She'll be either excited or angry if she finds out he's alive, who knows. Thor didn't want to risk it.
