Chapter 26

"Oh God," I groaned. "I'm so tired."

Adonis grabs my hip and pulls me closer to him, letting me put my head on his shoulder. I sigh and close my eyes.

"This would be more fun if I didn't have to worry about other people," I said.

Adonis kisses my forehead.

"They're in good hands baby," he says softly.

"Yeah, I know," I say. "I guess I now know why my mom acted the way she did."

"They always want their child at their best," he says and I nod.

Adonis leans his head on mine and sighs. As I was about to fall asleep, I hear someone call me name. I groan and open my eyes to see Theo.

"What do you want Theo," I say and Adonis tenses, becoming more alert and pulling me closer to him.

"Can I talk to you?" I motion for him to speak and he purses his lips. "Privately."

"No," Adonis says.

"Just talk Theo," I said with a sigh.

He looks very uncomfortable but speaks anyway.

"I've noticed you since the beginning of the year when you first spoke to Azrael, Ashe, and Jason and I always though that you were pretty. After you got your wings and moved into our house, I've gotten to know you more and I really started to like you," he says. "Over all of that, my feelings have grown. Ky, I love you."

In a flash Adonis moves me away from him and he is holding Theo by the throat against the wall.

"What did you say to her?" He growls, his wings flaring out, eyes turning black and darkness swarming around them.

"I said that I loved her," Theo replied strongly.

I look at Adonis and Theo with my mouth on the floor. When I hear commotion, I turn to see all the other Angels looking at us.

"Oh my God," I said, standing up. "Boys this is stupid, Adonis let him go."

"He loves you," Adonis growled. "He's going to take you away from me."

"That's absolute bull crap," I say. "He knows that I'm with you." I look at Theo to see him starting at me. "Theo, tell me this was a prank, just for your sake."

"I meant everything I said, babe," he says, winking and me.

When he did that, I noticeably cringed back into Adonis.

"Yeah, lets make sure that never happens again," I say, then turn to face Adonis. "Adonis look-"

"He's looking at your ass," Adonis cuts me off.

I grab Adonis's face like I did this morning and pulled him down to my level.

"You need to calm the fuck down," I say. "You're my soulmate, I'm yours and you're mine. You don't need to worry about him. I told you that I'm like a dog. I'm with you through it all baby."

"You got a nice ass," I head Theo say from behind me and my vision fills with red.

I look at Adonis and somehow he sees the red and lets me take Theo. As the red mixes with the purple, I slowly walk towards Theo. When he sees me coming towards him, he smirks and looks at Adonis like he won. I look Theo in the eyes and put my hands on his shoulders and slowly wrap them around his neck.

I hear a growl next to me and I see Adonis shaking, only getting worse when Theo puts his hands on my ass. I look Adonis in the eyes and he sees the purple in my eyes so he clams down a little. I look back into Theo's eyes and open my wings up a little and put one of my hands in his hair. I slowly start pulling his face towards mine before I start speaking.

"You love me?" I ask, making my voice hopeful.

"Yes baby," he said.

I knew he was lying but I didn't let that break my facade. I move my wings back so they are almost touching and right when I was close enough to kiss Theo, I pull his head down and flap my wings so I knee him in the forehead. Theo colapses in the floor, unconscious from the blow.

I back away from his body as if nothing occurred. Adonis moves at the speed of light and pulls me to him.

"You manipulated out of anger," he muttered. "You chose me."

"Of course I chose you, idiot," I said. "Your my soulmate."

Adonis smiles softly at me and kisses me.

"Holy shit," I hear someone say.

I look over to my left and see all of the kids we introduced ourselves to were starting at us.

"Stop staring," Adonis says in a cold voice.

Everyone obeyed him and started to do what they were doing before.

I yawn and stretch my arms over my head, my wings fluttering in the process.

"You tired babygirl?" Adonis asks.

I rub my eyes and nod.

"Stay here, let me get a pillow and a blanket," he says.

Since this room isn't used by the entire school, there are a lot of things that make it kind of homey. There are some posters, sofas and chairs, two T.V.'s, three bathrooms and a closet full of pillows and blankets.

Adonis comes back with two pillows and four blankets.

"Why so many?" I ask taking a pillow and two blankets.

"To be comfortable," he says, walking over to a couch.

He took in his wings and laid down, and thankfully his giant self fit on the couch. I put a blanket on him and stood up, looking for a couch I could sleep on. When I spot an open one, I start to walk over only to be stopped by a hand on my wrist.

"Where do you think you're going?" Adonis asks.

"To sleep," I say 

"Away from me?" He asks, and I just looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Take in your wings and lie your ass on me."

I look at him with an unimpressed look on my face, but do as he says. As I take my wings in, Adonis sits up and fixes the blankets, waiting for me to get on the couch with him.

"You're stalling," he says, grabbing my hips and pulling me so I straddle him.

"Oh damn," some girl says.

"Fuck off," Adonis says without missing a beat and I laugh.

"You're so mean." I laugh and lean down so I'm laying in Adonis's chest.

"But not to you babygirl," he says putting the blankets over us. "At least not in the same way as I am with others."

"Oh my fucking God," I say. "Adonis."

"Yes." He smirks.

I roll my eyes and lay my head on his chest, facing the back of the sofa so no one sees me sleep. I feel Adonis put one hand on my ass and the other one goes on my bare back.

"Sweet dreams babygirl," he whispers, kissing my forehead.

I don't respond, just snuggle closer to him and fall asleep.
