Chapter 26

Cole's POV

I have no idea where to take Amber to our first date. I want this to be memorable. Let's try to look something up in the internet for some ideas.

'Go to used library or library?' well, she's a gamer I don't think the library will interest her.

'Shop for crazy outfits to wear out together'? Pft, so lame.

'Take your dogs to the park' yeah sure, that is if we have one.

'Sing karaoke' come to think of it, I've never heard her sing before.

All of these suggestions are useless. What am I gonna do? Maybe I'll ask Dad or Mom. I dial Dad's phone number.

"Hey Dad." I greet him

"Hey, any problem?" he asks

"Nothing. I just want to ask you about something. Where did you take Mom on your first date?" I lowered my voice when I said the last sentence since I was shy to ask these kinds of question.

I hear my Dad laughing on the other end. "I never thought this day would come. Is it little Ellie?" he teases

I can feel my cheeks blushing "Whatever, can you just please answer the question?"

"Well, if my memory serves me right, me and your Mom just went to dinner at the restaurant then then you know what happens next." he chuckles

"Oh God, thanks anyway." I end the call immediately. I don't want to hear my Dad talking about how he and Mom had sex. Dinner? It's just too cliche. That would only be applicable if Amber and I don't know each other but I know her too well now, so -- wait a minute! I know what to do now.

Amber's POV

Where could he be taking me? I'm just so excited on our first date. Could it be that we're gonna have dinner in a fancy restaurant then what will happen next? Where will we go after eating? Walk around the mall perhaps. I think too much. I'll just leave it to Cole what we'll be doing. But what am I gonna wear? Maybe a dress? But what if he'll take me to a regular restaurant and I'm wearing a dress? Maybe I'll just send him a text message and ask.

Me: Hey, I just want to ask what outfit can you suggest to where we'll be having our first date.

Cole: I know you hate dressing up. So it's okay if you'll wear your regular clothes.:)

What does he mean my regular clothes? But it is thoughtful of him though, he knows me very well.

Me: So jeans and a T-shirt will be okay?

Cole: Yeah.

Hmmm. Maybe I'm expecting too much. Where could he be taking me? Cole said we to have our first date on Friday after school so we don't have to worry if we're coming home late. The suspense is really killing me.

"Maybe he's taking you out of town." Rachel says

"Let's see, he wants me to wear comfy clothes and staying late, so yeah, maybe. But where?" I respond. Rachel stares at the wall with a blank expression.

"Anyway, wherever he's taking you, are you ready to take it to the next level?" Rachel asks in a teasing tone

"What level? You mean what happened between you and Aiden?" I laugh "But no."

"What's wrong with that? You guys are getting married anyway." she shrugs

"Well, that's not 100% sure that we're gonna get married. We're taking one step at a time and see where it goes."

Rachel rolls her eyes "Whatever. But please don't forget to tell me where you're going tomorrow. I'm so excited to know what kind of guy Cole is. Like where he's gonna take you on your first date." she shrieks. "Speaking of the devil, here comes your Prince Charming."

"Hey Umbrella." Cole greets and sits beside me.

"How come you still call her that?" Rachel raises her eyebrow.

"One, old habits die hard. Second, I'm the only one who is allowed to call her that. And third, I don't want to be those kind of couples that publicly shows their affection to one another." Cole reasons out.

"Anyway, I don't mind and yes, old habits die hard and I'm used to it." I shrug.

"So, you ready for Friday?" Cole says without looking at me. I think his cheeks got redder. He's so cute when he blushes.

I smile while looking at him. "Yeah."

"Can you at least give us a clue where you're taking her?" Rachel asks with an excited tone.

Cole gives her this annoyed look, "This doesn't concern you." Then Rachel sticks out her tongue like a kid.

"So, I still have a class. See you when I see you." he looks at Rachel "and I guess I'll see you tomorrow after school?" he faces me while standing.

"Yeah." I feel my cheeks burning. As soon as Cole left, Rachel stares at me. "What?" I ask her while she's looking at me and she gives me a smile.

"You like him already. I can tell." she continues eating her lunch.

"No. This is my first date. So, I just feel a little shy. I always thought that dates are only applicable for people who already have a relationship.

"It is applicable for both of you since you're engaged."

"You're right." I know she's right.

"Let's go. We still have classes." Rachel stands up and I follow her.

Friday came and classes went by so fast. Here I am at home, confused on what to wear. Cole said to wear my regular clothes. But I don't want him to think that I didn't spare some effort on our first date. I'll just wear a dress that's applicable for all occasions.

As soon as I finish putting on a light make up. I hear a knock at the apartment and as I open the door, Cole is standing in front of me.

"Wow. I thought you'll be wearing your regular clothes." he smiles.

"I can change if my attire is not appropriate to where were going."

He gives me a warm smile. "It's perfect." then he extends his hand and leads me to the elevator.

When we came out from the apartment, I see Cole walking towards a pick up truck. This is not his car. Why would he take this kind of car? Where the heck is he taking me?
