~~ Friends In High Places ~~

"I thought I would dress up for you, Keeper... or is it L? I have heard so much about you, I feel like we could be friends!" She called over and her voice was raspy, like she'd smoked sixty cigarettes a day for a hundred years.

She seemed to be waiting for a response and L did the only thing she could think of.

"Id rather walk through the ocean with a hundred paper cuts than be friends with you. And if you call that dressing up, you might want to see a plastic surgeon!"

L's old attitude came shining through and she revelled in it. She heard someone snort beside her and knew it would be Bryce.

"Ah, a sense of humour, your parents had wonderful humour as well. They were laughing right up until the moment I killed them both." She laughed maniacally and some of the Demons behind her hissed their own version of laughter.

L clenched her fists and felt the Werewolf claws digging into her palms. She enhanced her skin to that of a Dwarf so she didn't cut herself and felt Bryce's hand on her shoulder.

"Don't let her bait you, she's just lying to aggravate you." He spoke in hushed tones, not that it made much difference.

"Oh but I'm not, little Elf Prince. I killed them ten, or maybe eleven years ago. It was a beautiful rainy day, one of my favourites, actually. I caught them trying to help a pitiful Pixie, and they had the audacity to laugh in my face. They had no Keeper knowledge left for me to take, apparently, they had 'given it away', so I had to torture and kill them for the inconvenience."

L's anger was rising with every word Frallica spoke. She was pushing L to do something and it was working. L felt Bryce's hand squeezing her shoulder but it made no difference to her anger.

"It looks like the rumours were right about you two, the Elf Prince and the Keeper. How revolting. Don't worry, I'll kill both of you so you don't have to live without the other."

L growled and ran at Frallica before Bryce or the others could stop her. She summoned Warlock magic and sent spell after spell at Frallica and her Demons.

They hadn't been expecting the suddenness, or the force, of the attack and it sent them sprawling in different directions. L knew she'd caught a few and watched them dissolve into a pile of gunk on the ground. She could hear Bryce and the others following her into the fight, it was now or never.

She sent more spells and magic towards the Demons, mostly things that Edra had taught her and broke up the horde into smaller subsections. Frallica looked surprised but she covered it quickly and advanced on L. L slashed her claws at Frallica when she got too close and sent her jumping back with surprising agility.

Frallica was cackling with laughter as she began to circle L. It was just a stalling tactic but it gave L a quick glimpse of the fights going on around them. Walter and Hallie were dealing with a large group of Demons, of all different levels and skills. The two of them were managing just fine though. To the average eye, they would have been a blur but L could see everything they were doing.

Emilia was dealing with her own group, smaller but no less dangerous and she was cutting them down easily with her sword. It almost looked like an elaborate but deadly dance. Bryce was playing around with his group, taunting them and laughing while he cut them down one by one.

L would have told him to knock it off, if it weren't for the attack Frallica suddenly sent flying her way.

"Your boyfriend can't save you now. You just had to come charging in, you couldn't just come quietly. I will get that knowledge from your unworthy mind and then I'll send you to your parents. Worry not because your pathetic prince and his friends will soon follow. Demons will rule this world and I will be their queen."
