"Do I know you? You could be anyone. Please state the nature of your business."
L wanted to punch him in the nose, all the while Vampire knowledge was pouring into her mind.
"What if we tried to force our way in?" L tested, this couldn't be the only security measures they had in place.
"You could try, but even you and Brycathlen aren't strong enough for that." His smirk only widened and Bryce took a meaningful step towards the door.
L reached a hand out to stop him and narrowed her eyes at Walter, "Alright we get it. You're trying to show us some of the security measures in place and that's great. I'm satisfied so far but I need to get in, I have information for the Council."
"What kind of information?"
Walter was grating on L's nerves now. She took a step closer and lowered her voice, despite knowing it was pointless.
"If you don't let us in right now, I'll tell Bryce what you did to Coven Toriesk's Winter Solstice statue in eighteen sixty-five."
Walter's face turned somehow even whiter, his smirk disappeared and he stepped back from the door. A number of clicks and noises sounded from somewhere, and the door opened a moment later. Walter was watching L with a strange expression while they walked in. It was oddly satisfying to her.
The rest of the Council were huddled around a large table, papers strewn all over but they turned as one when L and Bryce came closer. Vadim, Maeve, Tern, Archie, Katherine, Nate, Rashka, Garyk, Mallim, Solan and Alassia were all there. And of course, Walter who had followed them closer but still hadn't said another word.
L stopped and faced them, the amount of information flowing freely was almost overwhelming but she was slowly getting the hang of sorting through it. She sectioned off each of them, since it was mostly information she'd already looked through it made it much easier. Her trust didn't extend to all of them, however with the knowledge she had, she felt confident enough to be able to handle whatever they might say or do.
"L, may we help you?" Maeve asked kindly and L realised how much she had missed her company.
"I... I came to tell you something and once we've discussed it, I want to get back to training, today."
Bryce glanced at her in surprise but L ignored him and watched the Council closely. They looked curious and L noticed that realisation had started to dawn on Walter's face.
L took a deep breath, "I don't know if you were informed but Edra performed a spell that was basically a trap, one that I walked into. It was an Awakening spell and it did just that. I now have full access to all the Keeper knowledge that my parents bestowed upon my birthmark... or whatever it is. I can train faster and harder, and learn things in minutes. I'll be honest, I wasn't sure whether to tell you at first but I know it's crucial to my training and the fight against Frallica."
When L stopped speaking, she noticed the room was so quiet a feather could have fallen and even ordinary ears would have heard it. Each one of them was staring at her as if she'd jjst transformed into someone else. Some had expressions of eagerness or intrigue, the others looked sceptical or concerned. L understood every emotion, she'd felt them all since finding out and it was a long time before anyone spoke. When they did, however, they all erupted at once, asking all kinds of things that L had no chance to answer.
Vadim finally brought quiet to the Council and he held out a hand towards L.
"L, are you quite sure about your abilities working at full capacity now?"
He was clearly sceptical but he also looked worried, L assumed or hoped it was for her safety.
"Would you like a demonstration?" L asked as she looked at each of them, lingering on Walter with a smirk.
