~~ It's An Ability, Not Puberty ~~

A lot of the information flowed of its own accord but L was happy to discover that Demons were typically afraid of Dwarves. Mostly due to their immunity to venom and their incredible weaponry. L smiled to herself as she was almost certain she'd see Folen again one day.

There was another subject that L wanted to delve into but she was afraid of what she might find. It's possible that Matilda may be lost for the next few centuries. Sweet, innocent Matilda and L couldn't cope knowing that. She preferred to think of her hiding out, waiting for the coast to be clear. L was glad when Edra knocked on the door and walked in, distracting her from her morbid thoughts. It was still quite dark outside but it must have been morning already. L could hear birds tweeting in the distance.

Edra packed L's newly repaired clothing with a wave of a hand and L knew immediately how she was doing it. She didn't feel like trying it herself yet, she knew putting the knowledge of abilities into practice was a little more difficult than just knowing about them. Instead, she busied herself with getting dressed and Edra led her downstairs to the kitchen where the Worcesters were waiting.

All three had their cloaks and bags on and appeared to be itching to get out of there. Mrs Worcester thanked Edra repeatedly for her hospitality, while Robbie handed L her cloak and bag. Once they were all ready they headed for the front door. Mrs Worcester thanked Edra again on the way out.

They were to be escorted to the house by a group of Council-appointed soldiers. L took in a lungful of air when she stepped outside. The snow had mostly melted but it was colder without it. L also thanked Edra for the things she'd done for her before they left.

Edra waved it aside, "It was nothing, you needed help, and I helped."

She patted L on the shoulder and then shouted over their heads to give strict instructions to the escorts.

L and the Worcesters headed down the path together, L walked beside Robbie while his parents followed. There was a shared feeling of relief that none of them mentioned out loud. L knew they were as grateful as she was for the hospitality but there was something about being someone's house guest that didn't suit any of them.

When they soon came to a stop in front of the house, L stared at the newly repaired front door and memories flashed in front of her eyes. She now knew what kind of Demon she had faced and how easily it could have killed her if it had been allowed. She knew she needed to step up her training, the speed of which just depended on what she told the Council and when.

Mr Worcester led the way once he had thanked the escorts and brought L out of her thoughts. She followed Robbie up the garden path. They walked through the front door and it was like nothing had transpired in there. The hallway was spotless, Christmas decorations were twinkling and brightening up the place; they put their cloaks away and L could hear a fire crackling in the living room.

"I'm going to fix something for breakfast, I know we're all hungry and L you must be famished. I'll call you when it's done and we can eat in the dining room again." Mrs Worcester seemed much more at home as she bustled off to the kitchen.

"You two try to keep out of trouble, I have some things to take care of." Mr Worcester said but he didn't explain further. He headed down the hallway, around the staircase and out of sight.

"You could hear what he's up to if you listened in, couldn't you?" Robbie asked with a mischievous smirk.

"I could," L replied with a light chuckle. "But I wouldn't, that would be rude. What's gotten into you lately? You were disappointed about being normal, you spoke about my fight with Frallica like it's no big deal and you're fascinated with me using my newfound powers, no matter the reason."

Robbie's smirk faded and he shrugged, "I don't know, who wants to be normal though? And your powers have fascinated me since the day you first explained them to me."

Robbie frowned and L mimicked him, he was acting strangely, although he made a valid point about not being normal.

"It's probably just your reaction to that spell, maybe it awoke your inner child."

L tried to pull a smile out of him. Robbie had always been quite restricted and cautious in the time that she'd known him. He knew how to have fun but he never just threw caution to the wind and let loose.

Robbie nodded after a moment but his frown remained. "Maybe, I dunno but let's go make sure the house is properly secure."

That sounded more like the Robbie L was used to. She nodded and they walked off to check the house over. Edra had said they'd made it extra safe but L felt better after she'd checked it out for herself. She received some knowledge about the spells being used on the house, and she got to think about it more as they headed for their rooms.

L wanted to freshen up before eating, though she didn't feel as hungry as she should. Whether it was worrying about Matilda and Folen, or her new abilities distracting her, she didn't know, but she washed up anyway. She had just finished when Mrs Worcester called them for breakfast.

The sky was growing lighter, L noticed on her way down to the kitchen, meaning she'd have to face the day soon- though not before she ate. The smells that were coming from the kitchen were mouthwatering and the hunger she hadn't felt before, hit her square in the stomach.

She grinned at Mrs Worcester when she entered the kitchen to see a fully cooked breakfast set out for them, Bacon, sausages, eggs, tomatoes, plus several other things. L took her plate, thanked Mrs Worcester and carried it through to the dining room where Mr Worcester was already tucking into his. He had a black smudge on his nose and smears on his shirt.

"Are you working on something in particular, Mr Worcester?" L asked, sitting down opposite him.

He looked up and arched a brow in question until L pointed at his shirt and he looked down, chuckling.

"Call me Peter, L. Oh, but I should be more careful in future. Actually, yes I am, it's a present... though I can't say any more than that."

He tapped a forefinger to his nose and peered in the direction of the kitchen. L smiled widely. He was making something for Mrs Worcester and didn't want her to overhear.

"That sounds nice, it's not as if we can just go shopping really," L thought aloud as she suddenly wondered what she could possibly get the Worcesters at this moment in time.
