L raised a brow at him, he hadn't spoken so much in a long time and he was much closer than usual.
"Yeah, I think I worked through an issue or two. Is Robbie okay?"
L watched Bryce nod but there was something in the way he looked at her. She frowned as she watched him and felt information spring forward without warning or struggle. L's eyes widened. She hadn't passed out and she didn't need to try hard to access the knowledge.
"Yes, he's fine. He's helping his parents with some shop- what?" Bryce stopped when he saw the look on L's face.
L shook her head extra slowly, watching him and feeling her jaw drop slightly. She didn't answer immediately and tried for a little more. A lot more information sprang forth effortlessly and she soaked it in. Elf knowledge was at her fingertips while she looked at Bryce and she couldn't believe how easy it was to pull things out.
"You... you're not just the crowned Elf Prince, you're a decorated General in the army and have a city named after you!" L clapped a hand over her mouth as soon as she said it.
Bryce's face turned a funny shade of green and he leaned away from her.
"What are you talking about? How would you know something like that?" He looked awestruck and a little suspicious, his eyes wide while he stared at her.
L was receiving so much information. She had to get it all in order first before speaking. She was seeing certain things in a whole different light. The situation with Emilia and Illiana wasn't as popularly known so she didn't get the full story from her knowledge storage.
L had to reevaluate everything she had been told or learned so far. She was seeing brand new perspectives and she was coming to conclusions she wouldn't normally.
"That's why you keep randomly leaving? You're still attending to your duties as well as things here." L tried to gauge his reaction while she watched him.
"That's... no. Why would you think that would be the reason? Is the spell still affecting you, is that why you keep blurting things out?" Bryce looked concerned.
L thought about the spell, it had done everything it was supposed to, even if it was in the worst way imaginable. She didn't need anyone to tell her that her Keeper abilities were unlocked. She could access all of the knowledge without passing out and Bryce just happened to be her first experiment.
L felt slightly exhilarated but the look on Bryce's face brought her back down. He was somewhere between worry for her health and incredulity. She decided to be honest with him and he calmed down while she spoke, he was actually smiling by the time she finished.
"Well, that's great news, for you and the community. But just remember, that's knowledge of the species's as a whole, each individual could be a very different case. And not everyone in the community went to see a Keeper while they had the chance."
L pursed her lips, "So you haven't been sneaking off to Eldercrest to carry out Princely duties?" L surprised herself with the name of the Elven Capital city, it just came to her like she'd learned it at school.
Bryce smiled widely, "No I haven't, I try to avoid going back there as much as I can get away with. You're receiving a lot of information at once and some of it may be outdated so it's going to get confusing. You shouldn't assume the first piece of information you get about something is the correct one."
L tried not to feel embarrassed about her outburst or disappointed that she wasn't instantly an expert. She covered it up as best she could and searched for more information, talking Bryce through what she could access.
