When I woke the next morning, Ben was gone. A part of me wished I had seen him before he snuck out of my room but a part of me was happy he was gone. That meant I could roll over and sleep some more.

I did just that. Pulling the blankets up to my chest, I closed my eyes to fall back to sleep.

The door sprung open.

"Rise and shine."

"Colt," I snapped, I pulled the blanket over my head, "I am going to kill you."

"Hey, sleep when you're dead. It's already eleven o'clock."

I pulled the covers away from my head and peered at Colt. He held a dress in his hand. The one I would be wearing on top of the other clothes I brought.

"And I guess I can thank you for the little sleep I got last night."

"We weren't that loud."

Colt's eyebrows rose. "No, but next time move the bed away from the wall." I sat up in bed but kept the blanket tight around me. "Now get up. I need to leave in a few minutes and I guess you'll want help with this dress."

"I'll get up once you leave."

Colt threw his arms in the air. "You do realize I'm gay?"

I pointed my arm to the door, keeping the blanket up to my bare chest. "Leave."

"You girls are so picky."

There was a loud knock on the front door.

"I guess you have to go answer that," I smiled.

Colt dropped the dress to the ground and left, closing the door behind him. Rubbing one eye, I looked down at the floor that had my clothes littered over it.

The way his fingers grazed my body last night had left phantom touches everywhere. What we did. It was the final step. A final step for me to give myself fully to him. He knew everything about me and now knew every inch of my body. And I told him.

It was not quite what I had expected. But with him, he made me comfortable.

Standing from the bed, I pulled out fresh underwear and pulled out my fresh black leggings with a shirt and black jacket.

When I had on the shirt and leggings on my door opened.

Colt stuck his head in. "You have a visitor. She can be trusted." He opened the door and Jolene walked in.

"What? What are you doing here?" I asked. Colt partly closed the door behind Jolene. His footsteps retreated down the hall.

Jolene gave me a broad smile. "Gary and April were part of the Colt's group. I talked to Colt the other day. He explained everything that is going on. I can't do much. Not with this belly. But I wanted to help you get ready so no one recognizes you tonight."

"But, April," I stammered. The reason for her death was because of me. I was the one that helped them escape.

"She died believing in what she thought was right. Now sit down. We got some work to do."
