Throughout our conversation, Aiello continued to tease Zuss and me whenever he'd find a chance. Zuss eventually pissed off Aiello by telling him that Chicago is better than Queens which led to an argument. Their argument started off with them trying to explain to each other why their city was better. Zussman even tried to get Stiles to back him up, not caring at the moment that they had grown up on the opposite ends of the city that have a rivalry, but Stiles refused to join in. It was pretty entertaining until they started raising their voices and pushing and shoving one another. Luckily, Daniels got in between them before they could start swinging at each other.

When the sun began to set, we all got called into the building that had been used to plan the invasion. The inside looked like it had once been the home of French citizens. Now, the walls were lined up with propaganda posters and the dining table was filled with documents and maps that contained the plans for tonight's invasion. Turner told us to wait a moment since the plan still needed a few more details worked out.

I decided to use the time we were given to ourselves to make sure my weapons were ready for tonight. I took my gun apart and cleaned it in order to avoid any jamming. I also sharpened my knife with a rock I had found outside. I had a feeling I wasn't going to need my knife much tonight, but it's better to be prepared just in case.

Working out the plan's details seemed to be taking longer than expected and I could tell a lot of the soldiers were getting bored. I fiddled with my knife as I stood behind Turner and Pierson who were standing at the dining table, talking about the plan with Crowley and Rousseau.

I eventually started to feel someone's eyes on me and it didn't take me long to figure out whose. I looked across the room to see Zuss standing and looking at me with his gun over his shoulder. His face lit up when we made eye contact and he began to walk over to me.

"You know, it's rude to stare," I told him jokingly.

"Sorry, but it's hard not to when you're so damn pretty," he said. He then leaned in close and whispered, "Not to mention, I can't help but think that uniform would look better off ya."

My hand immediately went up to his mouth to shush him as I tried to contain my laughter. With our platoon leaders only a few feet away, I sure as hell didn't want to get caught acting unprofessionally again, but Zussman doesn't make that an easy task. When I took my hand off his mouth and looked at him, he had a mischievous smile on his face and I couldn't help but smile as I shook my head at him.

All of a sudden, Turner called my platoon and me over and we immediately stood up straight and walked closer to the dining table in the middle of the room.

We were finally going to be told about the plan.

"Using the documents we obtained from the train, Rousseau and I will pose as Nazi officers to infiltrate the Garrison*," Crowley explained as he pointed at the hotel the Nazis were staying at on the map in front of him. All of a sudden, the sound of a vehicle coming to a halt outside was heard, followed by shouting. Crowley immediately turned towards the direction of the commotion, but Rousseau grabbed his shoulder before he could walk off.

"This way, everyone," she said before leading the way. She led us upstairs until we found a metal door which she pushed open to reveal the rooftop of the building.

"The Garrison is run by SS*- Und Polizeiführer* Heinrich," she began to speak as we followed her to the railing at the edge of the rooftop. As I looked over Paris, it saddened me to see the city so dark. It was as if the Nazis' power over France had taken the life out of the city since most of the light was coming from the Garrison.
