Year Worth of Seasons

skin warm from the hot summer weather,
only at night when i need your sweater.
your fingers tangle themselves in my hair
behind the nighttime fair.
you planted a thousand sunflowers
on my heart that grew as tall as towers.
standing strong and beautiful,
which are unmovable.
a kiss is what i got,
your lips, i could forget them not.
how could you love someone just so sad?
when i don't even have a dad?
don't feel sorry, baby girl.
just smile and show me a twirl.
everything happens for a reason,
stay awhile and i'll go show you the seasons.
right now it's hot and beautiful summer time-
isn't it crazy just how time flies?
fall gets here and the leaves fall
but the sunflowers i planted still stand tall.
as fall goes here comes winter,
you won't have to endure anymore twisters.
now comes spring,
do you hear the rain?
and back to summer we are
as we ride together in your car.
a years worth of seasons
and i still can't seem to find the reasons
why i couldn't love you while you fight your demons.
