She mumbled words that I couldn't make out, but apparently Kaldur could.

"We're safe." He whispered as tears fell down Percy's cheeks. "He cannot harm us."

"No!" Percy thrashed, her voice still raspy.

"It's okay, I'm right here." He tried to pull her to him, but water slammed against him, throwing him across the room.

"Dude, you okay?" Wally rushed over and helped him up.

"It is not the worst that has happened." He walked back over to Percy and sat back down.

"She's going to do that again." Artemis said.

"It's a risk I am more than willing to take." Kaldur said before staring at Percy.

Small sobs escaped her lips. "Don't hurt him!"

A tear fell off of Kaldur's face. "It- It's okay. He can't hurt you. I...I will keep you safe."

So...does he know that he's speaking English? I asked.

I'm translating. Megan said.

"Wake up...please..." Percy whimpered.

Tears were running down Kaldur's face at this point. "I know what you are seeing and I am fine. Come on Percy...please."

He sighed as Percy continued to thrash. "Megan, can you help her?"

I'm breaking the link.

"Of course. Um...I think you should probably help me." Megan sat beside Kaldur and grabbed his hand.

Her eyes began to glow.

Megan

"Where are we?" I asked, looking at Kaldur whose hands had clenched into fists.

"This is where Percy grew up. Megan, whatever you see in here...you cannot tell the others." He rested a hand on the doorknob.

"Why?"

His shoulders dropped and he opened the door.

My hand flew to my mouth. A guy had his hands around a young girl's, maybe around eight, throat pressing her against the floot.

"You won't tell anyone about this will you?" He growled.

The girl managed to nod.

The guy released her and just as soon as I thought she was safe, he punched her throat.

She fell back to the ground holding her throat.

"Just to be safe." The guy grabbed a beer bottle and staggered out of the room.

The girl picked herself up, tears falling from her sea green-

Is that Percy?

Kaldur nodded, glaring after the man.

Percy walked over to a small huddled form, kneeling on the bloodsoaked floor.

She shook them, tears falling down her face. She shook them harder.

There was a groan and-

That's...that's you?

Yes.

"Are you okay?" The young Kaldur asked, sitting up.

Percy opened her mouth to speak but closed it after a moment.

Kaldur sighed as he watched his younger self reach out a hand to touch Percy's neck and the bruises forming there.

"Percy?" He tilted his head. "Why won't you answer me?"
