I yawned and sat up, reaching over to turn off my alarm before it could go off.

I felt the bed shift and I looked down at Percy, who was staring up at me, albeit without her usual smile.

Which is something I should expect, especially with what happened...

"Good morning Your Highness."

She simply stared at me for a second before rolling onto her side. Which caused me to frown.

Nothing? Not even a groan? Yesterday she showed her normal response to this but...

I sighed and shook my head, before pulling another blanket over her.

And then I got up and walked over to my desk to complete what I was meant to do last night.

An hour passed and I felt arms wrap around me as Percy finally decided to get out of bed.

"What is the matter?"

"Nothing. Just tired." She mumbled, resting her chin on top of my head as she looked at what I was working on.

"What are these even for?"

"Missions. These are all official statements of what happened."

"Okay...can we go get something to eat?" She released me and moved away.

"Of course. Do you need to borrow clothes for today?" I stood up and looked at her.

"Yeah. Can I borrow your jacket?"

I chuckled and nodded. Some things never change.

She quickly found herself a change of clothes. And then she disappeared to her room.

As for me I went about my morning routine, making my way out to the kitchen to grab a bowl of cereal.

But Percy had other ideas for breakfast. By the time I had made it to the kitchen, she had managed to make a whole stack of blue pancakes.

I am not sure why I said they were blue as that is a given.

But... something is off with Percy. She only took one pancake.

"Are you sure you are okay?" I placed a hand on her shoulder.

"I'm fine Kaldur."

"Percy...we both know how often you say that without meaning it."

"I'm fine." She snapped at me before stabbing her fork into her pancake.

I mentally sighed before fixing myself a plate, sitting beside her.

"Good morning Kaldur. Good morning Percy." Megan smiled at me. "Thanks for making pancakes."

After a moment of silence, Percy responded. "You're welcome."

"You cook?" Connor questioned her.

"Yeah." Percy stared at her empty plate. "I would have made cookies yesterday if someone would have let me."

"If you promise to share." I smiled at her.

"Nope. You don't get any cause I'm betting you had an entire batch to yourself more than a couple times."

I chuckled. I cannot argue with that.

Connor walked to a cupboard to get a plate, but he happened to drop one.

As it shattered on the floor, Percy was to her feet, hand in her pocket, and her eyes scanning the area.

"I dropped a plate..."

Percy let out a long breath, shaking. "Sorry. I'm just really nervous about this whole thing."

"It's okay. I was nervous my first day too." Megan smiled at her, before using telekinesis to clean up the mess.

I stood and placed my hand on Percy's shoulder again. "Why don't we go do something to calm you down?"

"Sure..." Was her soft reply.

I nodded and we quickly walked back towards my room.

After I closed the door she sighed and jumped on my bed.

"I just don't like this Kaldur...I go from-"

I placed a hand over her mouth and shook my head. "Connor can hear us."

She nodded and sat up. "So...what did you have in mind?"

I smiled down at her and pulled her up. "Care to dance?"

"You know I hate dancing."

"You hate dancing as a princess." I slowly guided her hand to my shoulder, then gently started to move.

About a minute into dancing she pulled away and shook her head. "I don't..."

I tilted her head up and stared her in the eye. "Percy, please? You need to be calm, I can tell you are still on edge. I understand why you are but...I will protect you."

"I know." She mumbled, moving closer to me. "I know you will."

She started chuckling. "I know you'll protect me. I know you won't let anything happen to me. We're exactly the same Kaldur."

"Except for the fact I maintain some decorum." I removed my hands from her hips, leaving them to hang awkwardly at my side.

Her smile widened and she burst into full out laughter.

But she...she started crying.

"We're exactly the same. And I couldn't protect them. I didn't protect them Kaldur!" Percy whimpered grabbing ahold of my shirt.

"Shh... Percy..." I quickly wrapped my arms around her, trying to lead her back to the bed.

"Why am I still alive?! Why me? I don't deserve-"

"No. Don't you dare say that." I placed a hand on the side of her face. "You deserve to live Percy. Just because-"

"You have to say that!" She yelled and I quickly pulled her to my chest, trying to muffle anything else she may say.

I never told the Team of my oath to her...nor do I plan to.

I felt her try to push me away, but I held her tight, trying to hush her.

Percy hit against my chest, now sobbing.

"Let it out Percy. It will be okay. Listen to me. It will be okay."

"How can you say that?! They're all dead...and I'm still alive."

I frowned. "Because...I am here. And I will make sure it is okay." Sitting up, I pulled her away from me so I could look at her.

She stared at me, head slightly tilted.

I smiled and hugged her. "This is me speaking as your friend. Not as your guard. Your friend. I will make sure you are safe. And I will do whatever I can to make you happy."

Tennis was cancelled today. Yay!

Tennis match tomorrow though...

But... I don't know what I'm gonna do now...
