THE first quidditch match of the year had sprung upon the students more unexpectedly than could be imagined. Angelina had been working the Gryffindor team almost as hard as Wood had when he was Captain but there was still the underlying tension between rival teams as the match approached. The Gryffindors would be playing Slytherin and this could be predicted as a disaster already.

Liana sat next to Grey that morning, dully stirring her cornflakes as she glanced almost wistfully over to where Harry and Ron where sitting with their backs to her, clutching glasses of orange juice and talking in hushed voices. Ron was no doubt giving Harry his pre-match pep talk.

Liana rolled her eyes at her own patheticness. She had been the one to cut Harry off, she shouldn't be moping over him. Yet she still felt a bitter twist in her stomach every time she saw him.

"Liana, snap out of it," Grey muttered in her ear sharply and he waved a hand in front of Liana's gaze to distract her from staring.

"What?" Liana shook her head defensively as she ducked her head so a wall of scarlet hair fell between her and the two boys on the other the table.

"You ended it with Harry for a reason, just stick to your guns. Stop doubting your own decision," Grey encouraged her. "And stop staring at him too- it's creepy, that's not how to attract a guy trust me."

"-I was not staring!" Liana blustered, her face flushing a light pink.

"Well since you didn't notice, you've spilled your cornflakes," Grey raised an eyebrow as Liana finally glanced down at the table and saw she had sloshed milk and cereal all over the table without even realising.

"Anyway, you still commentating this match?" Grey asked more gently now as he took a large mouthful of toast. Liana just shrugged as she began to shovel food into her mouth.

"I am today, but I have to make sure I watch the jokes i crack about Harry. I don't want Ron to knock me out afterwards with a chicken drumstick or something," she scowled to herself.

Grey sighed "Well what about your dad- have you tried figuring that out recently?" He asked, trying to change the conversation topic. This had the opposite effect however as Liana just dropped her spoon into her bowl with a clunk.

"No. Sirius says he doesn't know and I can't ask our mother. She hasn't been around for a while in case you haven't noticed. I'm going to the box to set up the megaphone," Liana huffed and grabbed her Gryffindor scarf from the seat beside her and quickly hurrying out of the great hall before Grey could stop her.

Fred leant over to where Grey sat and was running his hands through his sandy brown hair in frustration.

"Don't worry Grey, all sisters are nightmares," Fred assured trying to sound calming.
