"Okay Halstead, Upton you two pose as buyers, Atwater, Rojas, round the back. Me, Ruzek and Burgess will standby. You'll wait for my call, got it?" Voight's commands echoed through the bullpen. He was about to leave when he got a call in his office. "You guys go on ahead. I'll be there." He said as he walked to answer the phone, closing his office door behind him.
"Voight." He announced.
"Hello this is NYPD. We understand you know a miss Erin Lindsay," the caller said.
"Yes. I looked after her when she was 15 and till a few years ago she was in my unit. What do you want?" He demanded. He had a case he needed to attend yet at the same time if it concerned Lindsay he wanted to hear it.
"Has she been in any contact with you lately?"
"No, I've tried to call her a few times but it's been 3 years and we are both busy." Although he was all tough on the outside he was getting concerned.
The caller took a breath. "She's missing."
"WHAT?!" Voight yelled. Kim and Adam looked through from their desks. He proceded to shout many questions giving the caller hardly any time to respond. Finally he said " what do you want me to do, I can get my Unit on it A.S.A.P,"
"Sir that won't be necessary, we're on it."
"Then why'd you call me?!" Hank Asked.
"Erin has a child-"
" A CHILD?!" Voight cut the caller off.
"Yes. The child doesn't have any relatives to look after her in New York and since we didn't think Erin's mom was an appropriate choice to look after her we called you."
Once again Voight Bombarded the poor caller with questions. He knew this was delaying his unit from catching these drug dealers but this was more important.
"How old's the kid?"
"2 and a half"
Voight let that sink in. That only ment the father could be in Chicago.
"I'll be on the next flight out to collect her. Meanwhile you better work your ass off finding out where Erin is!" He slammed the phone down ending the call. Voight marched out of his office. Kim and Adam were still there and now was Platt. Before anyone could say anything he started "Change of plan. Halstead will be in Charge. Continue on this case, I'm going to New York for a few days"
"Is everything Alright, I heard you mention-" Kim was cut off.
"Its non of your business" Voight snapped. Burgess looked hurt but Voight had no time. Like he said to the caller in New York, he was on the next flight out.
