L smirked at him, "So you wouldn't have come to save me?"
Robbie rolled his eyes, "Yes I would, but you know what I mean. You can do this. They're expecting it way too fast, but you can. You always work better under pressure... and now you have us here with you, for whatever that's worth."
L really took in his words. Having him and his parents there had already bolstered her spirits.
"It's worth more than I can explain, I don't trust anyone the way I trust you. And your family makes me feel wanted, instead of just needed because of what I can do. I thought there were others here who didn't just need me for my abilities, but I guess I had started expecting too much. I should have known better."
She grimaced when that slipped out, and she hoped Robbie wouldn't understand, and from the look on his face, he didn't.
He smiled and shrugged instead, "Well, we're here, and we're not going anywhere for the foreseeable future. I trust you too, by the way. You just need to take it one day at a time, take every problem as it comes. I think with all mum's fussing, you'll be glad to get out of the house anyway."
"Hey, I like that she fusses, it's a new experience for me and she doesn't suffocate me. But you're right, I'll just have to take it a day at a time."
They went on to discuss her training the next day with Katherine and what it might entail. Robbie was very interested in the fact that she was a Werewolf, although L couldn't answer any of his questions. They agreed to discuss her training every night in case she needed to rant. L felt more content when she and Robbie said goodnight. He closed the door quietly, and she settled into her pillows.
She closed her eyes, still thinking about the training and what she might have to learn. The abilities were endless from what she could tell, and then there were the beings she was actually going to be trained by. L fell into a sleep filled with creatures she'd never imagined and others that she was all too familiar with.
She woke up with a cold sweat running down her back and her pyjama top was soaked. She showered quickly and dressed before she went down for breakfast- she didn't want anyone worrying. Mrs Worcester was already awake and moving around the kitchen.
"Morning dear, would you like some breakfast?"
L liked hearing the words, but she shook her head, "I'm just gonna grab some cereals, I have to go out again soon."
"I hope they're not running you ragged with whatever you have to do?"
L shook her head again and poured herself a bowl of cereals, "No, they're not, Mrs Worcester. It's alright."
"It's Jessica, not Mrs Worcester. I think we are very much past that point by now."
L just smiled back at her and ate her food quietly. She still wasn't looking forward to training with Katherine. She always seemed so severe and strict whenever L had heard her speak, so it was likely that training wouldn't be any fun.
L had to remind herself that it wasn't meant to be and finished up her breakfast. Mrs Worcester took the bowl before she could take it herself.
"Go ahead, I'll sort this out. And if Matilda calls by today, we'll discuss leaving the majority of the cottage as it is. Maybe we should let her have a go at the frilly bedroom, give her something."
L laughed and headed into the living room to tuck the photo and note into her boot.
She called out goodbye as she headed out of the door. She had been given no instructions about where to go, so she headed for the Council cottage again. Katherine was waiting for her in the same place Archie had. She also stood when L walked in, but her expression was much more serious.
