~~ Training, Training, Training! ~~

Mr Worcester took up a knife, he chopped and prepared things simultaneously. L thought they both looked like a well-oiled machine. They knew exactly what the other needed, and L smiled over at Robbie. She went to join him once her jobs were done and sat down next to him.

"They're pretty amazing, you know?"

"I think you've told me that a few hundred times," he smirked at the look she gave him. "But yeah, I know they are, I'd be lost without them, literally."

L smiled and watched them cook their way around the kitchen. It made her think of her own parents and what they would have been like had they all stayed together.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when Robbie choked out a laugh.

"What is that?!"

L eyes grew wide at what he was holding. It was some of the fabric Matilda had brought. It was dark yellow and had brown shapes on it with ugly black flowers, L didn't know much about decorating, but she knew it was horrible. She tried not to be mean about Matilda's choices since she was usually good with these types of things, but that definitely wasn't a good example.

They stowed it way down in the sack and moved onto the clothes she'd brought; those were a lot better, and the sizes were almost perfect. There were dresses, blouses, and trousers for Mrs Worcester; and an assortment of trousers and t-shirts for Mr Worcester and Robbie.

L thought they instantly looked more comfortable when faced with clean clothes. It made her smile while Robbie joked about how he'd get his cast into the leg of the trousers- when Mrs Worcester suddenly withdrew some jogging bottoms from the bottom of one of the bags. Matilda must have decided they would be the least wanted out of all of her choices. Robbie was more than happy, however.

The rest of their evening continued in pretty much the same manner. They ate a lovely dinner, and L was forced to have seconds by Mrs Worcester. They talked and laughed for hours. There was no sign of Matilda coming back, and L assumed that was Maeve's doing. L hadn't had such a good night since the last time she'd shared a meal with the family. She was warm and content by the time she crawled into bed.

She just wanted to fall asleep now. She didn't want to think about training with Katherine the next day. She was turning over to get comfortable when there was a knock on her door, and she leaned up a bit. She listened harder and smiled at the familiar sound of Robbie's breathing.

"Come in!"

The door opened, and he hobbled in. He was dressed in shorts and no shirt. L shivered for him and smiled as she let some of her stored heat circulate her body.

"Robbie, it's freezing. How can you walk around like that?"

"It's not that cold, I've lived up north on a farm my whole life, remember?"

L rolled her eyes and watched him close the door. He made his way over to her bed and sat down at the bottom. He grew silent, and she stared down at him expectantly.

"Well, what's wrong?"

Robbie gave her an incredulous look and laughed, "How about everything? But for now, I wanna know what happened today. Where did you go?"

L forgot that she'd said she'd tell him all about it, though she wasn't about to go back on her word. She could do with his thoughts, and she didn't know when she'd have time again. She told him all about the training, what it was for, and what it would do. She told him about Archie's sentiment towards Keepers. She even told him about how it made her feel and her doubts about being a Keeper.

He was silent throughout, and she couldn't tell what his expression was. There was silence when she finished, and it took him a few seconds to speak.

"He shouldn't have dropped that on you. He was supposed to train you not burden you even more than everyone else has." Robbie shook his head in disapproval. "But I don't think you give yourself enough credit. You're capable of anything, literally anything. You're a fighter, L, in more ways than one. Moving all over the country your entire life, putting up with families like you have, now Demons, and saving your friend and his family when you didn't have to. I don't think I could have done half of that and still be sane afterwards."
