This story begins..... even longer before...

Millennia before the time of Ozma and Salem.... before the time of magic....

It was a time of ruin...

When the two brothers first came together, they created humanity, creatures that would later become their greatest creation. Beings blessed with free will, to think and feel like none of their previous creations, capable of both good and evil, traits that were passed down from both creators.

With those qualities, humanity soon found itself consumed by their natural instincts. Having built civilizations split into numerous kingdoms, empires, etc... Inevitably, they came into contact with each other, sparkling new relationships, and in many cases, rivalries that would later erupt into something worse.

Having witnessed what was supposed to be their sign of reconciliation turned into a spiral of conflict and chaos, the brothers rather peaceful status quo began to dwindle.

Then the world burned...

Centuries of death, destruction, and chaos... an age of war, where humanity was pitted against each other in a conflict with a scale of colossal proportion. Millions dead, countless suffering, massive losses in infrastructure, humanity was at its limits.

Nevertheless, even when exhausted after endless fighting, instead of putting a stop to their destructive campaigns, some of the humans turned to the gods for more power.

The God of Light, a just and wise being, outright refused the plea of the humans. It was then that they turned to the land of darkness and bend their knees to the God of Darkness. The situation turned for the worst when the God of Darkness granted them a gift. Magic, a power capable of destruction like none that the humans have ever seen.

With magic now used by the humans, the wars grew larger in scale. Having learned this, the God of Light decided to bestow his own gift to humanity. From nature that he had blessed the humans with ever since their creation, the God of Light gave them new natural resources that would help them counter magical power. And ever since then, things just went downhill.

With new tremendous power, the war worsened.

Until...

One person... just one man who saw through the cloud of war that had enveloped his world for all his life. It was there he saw a better world... a world that should have been...

With that drilled into his mind, he gathered countless others with the same dream as his and began his conquest to unite the world, challenging the gods in the process. After dedicating most of his life to conquer the world, he finally made his dream into a reality as the whole world is now united under one banner.

Enraged, the God of Darkness sent a catastrophe towards the united empire that he had built. A great horde of darkness swept through the world as Creatures of Grimm were sent by the Gods to punish the humans. However, to the surprise of both gods, he desperately rallied all of humanity onto his side once again. Only this time, they were fighting for survival.
