The Con

A week later, it was the first day of ComicCon. Thousands of people had come, many of them cosplaying.

Meanwhile, Steven and the Gems were getting endless compliments on how good their costumes were, when really they were just wearing their regular clothes.

You and they managed to keep it secret and giggle quietly.

You and the Gems met a whole lot of other fans. They were all geeking out together, complimenting each other's cosplays, singing songs.

At some point, Steven and some others cosplaying himself sang "Steven and the Stevens" together, remembering every word.

The CGs started to tear up at how many people loved them and their story.

"C'mon, guys, the meet n' greet is starting!" You said excitedly.

You led the Gems through the building until you found where the meet n' greet was being held.

The booth was surrounded by about 300 people, all wanting to talk to the people making all their lives better.

You pushed through the crowd.

And there they were.

Zach Callison, Michaela Dietz, Deedee Magno Hall, Estelle, Grace Rolek, Shelby Rabara, Jennifer Paz, and our Lord and Savior Rebecca Sugar.

You and the rest stood in front of Rebecca Sugar.

"Umm, hi!" You said.

"Hi!" She replied.

"So, ummm....... we just wanted to say that we're really big fans of your show and you make our lives a whole lot better with it."

"Aww, thanks. That means a lot." She said sweetly. "I can tell you worked really hard on your costumes!"

You gave Steven the signal you figured out together.

"Umm, actually....." Steven said. "We're actually the Crystal Gems."

"Wow, someone's really in character." Rebecca patted his head. "And you nailed the voice. You sound exactly like Steven, actually....."

Steven got into position so the crowd couldn't see. And to prove his point, as practiced, he shapeshifted his finger into a cat.

It gave a tiny "meow."

She stood there in shock.

She whispered to the group, as well as you, "Okay, maybe you are the Crystal Gems. Listen. I'm having a gathering at my hotel room with the voice actors as well as some of the crew. Do you guys want to come?" She smiled.

"We'll be there!" You whispered back. The rest of the group nodded.
