"Don't you ever disobey orders again, McClain! You hear me?!" Iverson shouted at Lance, who awkwardly stared at the floor.
"Yes sir..." Lance muttered, looking up only to salute to him.
"Now get back to your barrack!"
Lance nodded and walked back to the barracks, a darkness looming around him.
How he hated having to follow orders and be bossed around.
Oh how he yearned to break free.
Lance sat down and stared at the sleek wall of his room. A sigh escaped his lips as he picked at his fingernails.
Maybe he could rebel against the Garrison. The stupid Garrison, always holding him back.
'Starting tomorrow', Lance thought, 'I will refuse to follow their orders.'
He quickly fell asleep and awoke to the early alarm set for the cadets.
His eyes throbbed from not having enough sleep. Lance tried to focus on his surroundings.
He went to the cafeteria where they were serving the usual bland breakfast- a dull waffle that was soggy with syrup, a single breakfast sausage, a bottle of water, and a single plain egg.
Lance carried the tray of food back to his assigned table and began eating. He no longer had to hold back from gagging because he was already so used to the food.
They said that all cadets had to finish all of their food before reporting to the training areas. Lance ate half of his food, and left the rest untouched.
He got up from the table and started towards the simulation room.
One of the sergeants approached him. "Cadet, finish your food."
Lance refused and the sergeant reported him.
He was immediately reprimanded for his actions.
They said he couldn't have any snacks during lunch for a week, and couldn't participate in the simulations for 3 days.
Lance ignored them and continued anyway.
It didn't take long for the Garrison staff to notice Lances rebellious behavior.
"McClain!! Keep up this bad behavior and we'll kick you out of the Garrison for disorderly conduct!" Iverson shouted at Lance, who stared right back at him with a fearless expression.
"You understand?!"
Lance didn't move a muscle.
"I said, do you understand?!!?" Iverson was furious.
Lance didn't respond and stood his ground.
Later that day, Lance was sent home.
He was never to return to the Garrison again.
This one wasn't really angsty. Sorry.
