Fate/Zero - The Saint of Chaldea

Chapter 1 : Irisviel and Kiritsugu

When Emiya Kiritsugu had summoned the legendary King Arthur Pendragon as his saber class servant for the fourth holy grail war he had expect the king to be a male thus when Arthur Pendragon turned out to be a female whose name was Artoria Pendragon he was understandably surprised by this fact but in the end it didn't matter for his strategy would not be perturbed by this fact.

However what really surprised and unsettled him was the fact that his wife, Irisviel von Einzbern, had been selected as an eighth master for this holy grail war. Sure the servant she ended up paired with did not disturb his strategy in fact her skills complemented his strategy quite well but he couldn't shake the feeling he had concerning the orange haired girl who knew of his wish even though they never have met before.

Keeping the smile he had for his daughter Illyasviel von Einzbern as he played with her outside of the Einzbern castle in Germany, Kiritsugu couldn't stop himself from thinking about Ritsuka Fujimaru, his wife servant and an heroic spirit coming from an irregular class.

Once the bright light had disappeared Ritsuka opened her eyes and she saw that she wasn't in the dark void anymore instead she was inside a chapel alongside Artoria Pendragon as well as Emiya Kiritsugu her paternal grand father and Irisviel von Einzbern her paternal grand mother.

This along with the information her mind received just now confirmed her suspicions, she had been summoned as a servant in the fourth holy grail war. Ritsuka was surprised by such a turn of events while she had expected that her actions during the restoration of Humanity foundations would qualify her as an heroic spirit, even though it was practically impossible in her era except if one made a contract with the counter force and became a counter guardian as a result, she expected to become a caster class servant so she was surprised, pleasantly so, when she learned that she had become a ruler class servant.

Looking down Ritsuka saw that she was wearing the dress she had been gifted by her servants prior to her death. She understood from what she knew that the counter force which had allowed her summoning intended for her to act as a support to saber during the fourth holy grail war as well as eitheir destroying the Holy Grail or purging it of its corruption.

Ritsuka looked up when she heard something metallic fall to the ground and she saw that Kiritsugu had dropped the gun he always had on his person probably due to the shock of the twin summoning while Irisviel clung to his arm with a nervous expression. Saber herself had drawn her sword out and had pointed it toward Ritsuka.

"Emiya Kiritsugu, you are aware that this kind of weapon is ineffective against heroic spirit?" Ritsuka questioned her adoptive grand father with a raised eyebrow.

"Who are you? And why are you here?" Saber demanded from Ritsuka.

"I am the eighth heroic spirit of this war as for my name I'm Ritsuka Fujimaru." Ritsuka said with a smile and a friendly tone in the hope of calming down the situation she was in.

"The eighth servant of the fourth holy grail war? That can't be right caster hasn't been summoned." Irisviel said from behind Kiritsugu. She wasn't aware of the command seals that had etched themselves onto her left hand.

"I can assure you that caster master as already been chosen Irisviel von Einzbern. Being a ruler class servant does give me some information on this war." Ritsuka said with a calm tone to Irisviel who looked at her with a confused expression.

"Ruler class?" Kiritsugu asked as he listened to the conversation of his wife and the orange haired hazel eyed girl named Ritsuka Fujimaru.

"Yes, it is one of the extra class of servants along with the avenger, alter ego, moon cancer, foreigner and shielder classes. Under normal circumstance a ruler class servant is summoned by the holy grail when the seven master it had previously selected decide not to fight one another. In this case the ruler class servant's role is to take on the responsibility that the Church normally fulfill while the grail select another group of seven master to form a second a team whose job is to fight the first team until there's only seven master left and the holy grail war can return to its normal state." Ritsuka explained to Kiritsugu and Irisviel.
