I knock on the door, smiling when Soulla opens it.

Finally.

"He's asked me not to let you in." She says quietly. "No matter what you say to convince me."

"But-"

"And I don't want to upset him."

"Soulla-"

"Just give him more time, okay?"

I nod, looking down and turning around.

"Just tell him I'm sorry, okay?"

"I will."

I walk down the driveway, walking to school alone for the first time in a while. I'm so used to Blake and I walking together every morning, and now I don't know what to do since I'm alone.

I hate it.

When I get to school, people are talking about the dance and what all they did.

Well I broke a guy's heart.

And I didn't mean to.

I hate myself.

Blake made sure to stay far away from George and I in first period, making me even sadder. When it's time for my free period, which luckily Blake has as well, I hurry towards his locker.

"Blake please just hear me out. I-"

"Jess, don't. I need time to think."

"Think about what?" I sigh. "Don't answer that."

"I'm going to the library. Please don't follow me."

I watch as he walks away, my heart seeming to shatter into a million pieces.

This better not be it.

I won't let it.

An idea pops into my head, and I rush outside of the school, running towards the one place I can find answers.

I don't care that I would be missing school.

I'll tell my dad exactly what I did.

Sure, he won't like it, but it's a good cause. He has to know that.

I knock on the door repeatedly until it opens, Abbie looking at me with a surprised look.

"Jessica? What are you-"

"I messed up, and I need to fix it."

"How? He's incredibly stubborn and won't give in easily."

"That's where I'm hoping you come in."

She looks at me confused. "How am I supposed to help?"

"You grew up with him. Tell me a way I can fix this."
