I finish pinning the last piece of hair into place.

"Carly?"

"Yea?"

I walk out of the bathroom.

"How about this?"

She looks at my hair, shaking her head.

"It won't go with your dress."

"It won't?"

"No! You need something that doesn't make you look so bare. Your dress is strapless after all."

"Right."

She gets off of my bed.

"I really don't like you for waiting until last minute to figure out what you're doing with your hair for the formal."

"Sorry? I've been busy."

"Busy hanging out with Blake."

"So? He's my boyfriend."

"And sometimes things are more important than your boyfriend."

"I know."

"I mean, I had to force you to go with me to pick out our dresses. Everytime I asked you were doing something with Blake."

"Seriously?"

"Yes! You guys take advantage of you guys living across the street from each other. I'm surprised your parents haven't caught on."

"They-"

"They're probably just happy you're actually dating. Parker and I once joked about how something must be wrong with you."

"What? Why?"

"Because there were so many guys who just wanted you to pay attention to them."

"What?"

"And you didn't! We had even thrown it out there for you and you still didn't acknowledge them!"

"Oops."

"You better not acknowledge them now."

"I don't plan on it."

"Good."

"Especially not Anderson."

"No. Never. He disgusts me."

"I know."

She chuckles before running out to my room, handing me my dress.

"Put it on. The boys will be here any second."

"I will. Now get out."

"I'll be putting mine on in your room."

"Got it."
