Trigger Warning.
Maybe now it gives you relief.
Maybe now it gives you comfort.
Maybe it soothes you.
Gives you a moment to think.
A breath of fresh air.
But when you think about it, really,
Is it worth it?
When your sibling sees the angry lines on your skin.
When you always make sure to cover it.
When you step in the shower and you feel the sting, Is it worth It? To be reminded of your pain even while trying to do the simplest of things?
When your partner sees it.
When your child sees it.
Are they proud?
Will they think it's okay to do it themselves when they get to a low?
But these lines aren't bad are they?
They are just proof you lived during a time hard enough to make you decorate your body with pain.
Proof that you're strong.
A fighter.
Proof that you've won your battle.
But every battle leaves a man different.
