Pull the Damn Trigger

My trigger finger twitched with desire. After all I had been through, all I had sacrificed, I finally had the man responsible for my daughter's murder sighted in my crosshairs.

"Damnit, pull the trigger." I whispered to myself. With my experience as a trained assassin for a top-secret government agency, and then the abilities I gained from the Crimson Coalition, none of that was enough to go against my morals. I couldn't pull the trigger.

A child walked into view, the man's son. I cursed to myself. A child should not be held responsible for their parent's actions. Hell, I understood that more than anyone.

"I'm sorry Jess, I can't do it." All I could do was watch the criminal politician through the scope of my rifle. The truth is, I didn't want him to die quick and painless. I wanted him to know it was me. I wanted him to regret the day he crossed Adrian Fox. I grunted with disappointment and my body became shadow, then disappeared.
