1. The Last Namsara, by Kristen Ciccarelli

There is something very attractive about this book. The political intrigue feels personal. The short stories are enticing. The plot twist might be predictable but still finds a way to hit you hard. The love interest is lovely. There is something about each character that I felt was missing until the end. I think that, however, was all worth the wait.

I think anyone who reads this book needs to be patient. There is a lot happening, but it all serves a purpose. The entire story is told from Asha's point of view so it's, of course, all very one-sided. As I said before, I had to wait till almost the end for the other shoe to drop with certain characters.

Chapter 44 struck me in the chest with a knife. I don't even want to think about it.

Page 413 was a lot to take in and unfair because I wish my dreams were made that simple.

2. The Second Short Life of Bree Tanner, by Stephenie Meyer

I got this book only a couple of weeks ago at a Goodwill. It is less than two hundred pages... meaning I finished it in less than a day.

Bree is very smart and collected. She isn't aware of her purpose but still knows and understands more than her fellow newborns. It's an interesting read for anyone wanting to further understand the world of Twilight.

3. Thirteen Reason Why, Jay Asher

I think everybody should just take a day off from the world and read this book.

That's exactly what I did, and this book is powerful.

I bought the tenth-anniversary addition, and Jay Asher's introduction is everything I could have asked for. It was oddly relatable, and it was a look into what many young writers wish to experience someday. There is something in his words that hooks you and that's just the introduction.

The story of Clay and Hannah is a bit different from the show. In many cases, it's a lot different. Yet, no matter which media you decide to journey, both versions are absolutely compelling. (Meaning the book and season one only.)

When I read this book, I feel a little like Clay. Unsure about everything and emotional. There are moments when you need to stop and reflect, and then there are moments when you have to keep going from a sudden need to know everything.

And because this is a tenth-anniversary edition, I got to read Clay's reaction to Hannah being alive. Let me tell you, it felt beautiful. It felt like a cool breeze of sunshine saying good morning in my heart.

Does that make sense? Idfk, but that's the only way I know how to say it.

And lastly, my Thirteen Reasons Why book looks exactly like the picture below. Which also means that it's signed inside, in red ink, not very pretty, but forevermore puts a smile on my face.

Disclaimer: I bought it signed & I haven't met any cool authors yet.

That's a wrap on the first two months of 2019

That's a wrap on the first two months of 2019. Oh, my star-lord, that felt weird to type. Two whole months already?

Three books down, and I'm so excited for more. Rereading the Kane Chronicles next.

I love you all so much,
