For an entire day, I have been in front of the screen. Listening, waiting and anticipating #ShawnMendesTheAlbum. From black and white to colored roses and paint, in every perspective, I have awaited the reveal of something grand. I counted down with the minutes because nothing meant more to me in those final moments.
Now? I still have to wait an entire month for the release of Shawn's new album, and somehow, I find it all completely worth it.
The artwork revealed, in the end, was a remake of fanart. Shawn's decision, for what I believe is his cover art, is genuinely and deeply inspiring. Even if it is not, the power of art is a force unlike any other. I appreciate his choice in sharing it.
I have never loved a person so much that I would spend a day entirely dedicated to them alone. I have no regrets about the matter, and I am so excited for everything that is to come with this third era.
I stayed on the live chat even after the live stream was over. For those who remained, all I can say is that we had a wonderful time. We called it the after party. I told them I had never been to an after party before. In response, I learned I was not the only one. In the end, I was sad to leave after all those hours spent together. Eleven hours, to be precise.
This entry is for Shawn and the Mendes Army. You guys make me feel a little more complete. You understand my struggles. You inspire me in every way. I look forward to the tweets, memes, and post. The bad jokes and the stories shared. The tea spilled and more importantly, the videos of Shawn tripping on stage. I love you all immensely.
