Hot tears rained down from her brown eyes. She hated it, the pain that she didn't want to bear was on her shoulders. The way how this world worked was unlike any other, wars raged in order to maintain peace and harmony was the one thing that would end up with destruction. She shakily put her hand over her mouth as people walked by. Turning around, she headed into a dark alleyway. She could barely stifle a cry as she stumbled through the front door and collapsed on the couch shaking. This wasn't fair. THIS WASN'T FAIR. The more tears streaked down her cheek, the more frustrated she got. Khaos and Kaitlyn didn't have to die like that, and they didn't have to be burned, they were already dead. The way things worked in this world was indeed unfair, trying to get into the corrupt political system, was more than just being sneaky. Faking emotions and everything else would eventually break someone in the end. She shakily got up and wiped her tears with the back of her sleeves.
"I'm okay, I'm okay." She breathed heavily until she sighed. It was over, but what was next?
There have been worse times, but times like these pained her the most. She shivered and hugged her legs and curled up into a small ball. It was best not to think too much about the current situation. Everyone was thrown into grief and anger, and nobody made a single move. She got up from the couch and walked over to her desk, words had power and she knew that she had to make a move. A move that would be able to justify Khaos and Kaitlyn's deaths and to have the power to question the goverments' actions.
"What is humane? And what is humane?"
"Zara? you're back?"
"Yep, and...I'm going to try and question fate's own doing, I suppose you would like to join in?"
"I-I don't know about this one, it sounds dangerous." Zara turned around and put a hand on her hip.
"Nester, almost everything we do is dangerous, itself." Zara turned back and sat down in front of her desk. Nester sighed, shaking his head as he left the room, and Zara grabbed a felt tip pen and a lined piece of paper and began writing.
Meanwhile, in a far away place along the edge of the coastlines....
Lore-Lei stood on top of a cliff overlooking the sea.
"Halt! Stay where you are and don't move!" A short soldier ran towards her from the treeline. Lore-Lei blinked in confusion as the soldier ran towards her.
"You are under arrest for concealing your abilities as a summoner!" Lore-Lei blinked as four more soldiers rushed out of the treeline covering their shorter comrade. As the short soldier lunged towards her she leaped backward and fell down the cliff. As she fell, she heard shouts in the near distance and closed her eyes. If she remembered correctly, dragons could be summoned once she made contact with the specific element. Closing her eyes she counted backward from 10.
"10...9...8...7...6...5...4...3...2...1..." She was then hit with the hard force of water. Shivering slightly, she clasped her hands together and prayed for the god of all dragons to hear her request. Her offering was for the entire coastline to become a made habitat for the dragon itself. A pale blue aura surrounded her body as a deep rumble came from beneath the sea. Immediately, she was shot into the air while perched atop a white and blue scaled dragon with whiskers. His horns were twisted and covered with algae and seaweed, as Lore-Lei slowly opened her eyes and blinked. As she looked down, the soldiers below started to shout and began taking out bows and arrows. Clasping her hands together she formed a mental connection with the dragon she had summoned.
"My name is Lore-Lei, your summoner, my command is to let us not fight this petty battle,"
"My name is Minoru, dear summoner, why must we run and hide?"
"Why are you questioning my actions, Minoru, I am your summoner and that is my command,"
"These are weaklings I can certainly fight on land, little one,"
"...Do not underestimate their power Minoru, otherwise, that will become your ultimate downfall,"
"They are just humans, don't you understand?" Minoru seethed. "Humans are useless weaklings that I despise." Lore-Lei furrowed her brows, irritated. "We must make haste, however, one of them is already calling for reinforcements." She paused for a moment and added. "However, it would be a pain to fight them all at once, won't it Minoru? So once again, I command of you to make haste." Minoru stared off into space and nodded, it would be annoying if reinforcements were called, and since there was no number specification he might as well swim off. Grumbling he plunged back into the depths of the sea, with a pink-haired summoner clinging onto his back.
