[ruins of a testing facility]

Sunlight glared into the broken window. I shuddered and coughed, the experiment was over. I slowly crawled onto my feet and I stumbled over a piece rubble. I slammed myself against the wall, breathing heavily as I massaged my temples. I felt something on my temples and I winced as I retracted my hand and there was blood. I wiped the blood on the wall and I kept on walking down the hallway. As I walked closer to the end of the hallway the door was ripped off the hinges more rubble was seen. I banged my left foot against a stray rock, I grimaced and slowly stepped over it. I limped toward the door, but then I paused when I heard whispers echoing through the room.

"Zera, are you okay?"

"I-I'm fine, thanks for pulling me back..."

"Is everyone else okay?"

"BlackJack, give the girl some space, she's already gone through enough,"

"...."

"I'm fine Yuna, I don't want to hear your sympathy, okay!"

"Zera-"

"I'm fine, now come back to me, silenced!"

Energy hummer through the room and stopped abruptly. The silence was like torture to me, my wounds weren't any better. I shifted around a bit but then a hand came out of nowhere and grabbed my throat. I gasped in surprise as my attacker slammed me roughly down onto a piece of rubble. Whimpers and gasps escaped my mouth and a gurgle came out. My eyes fluttered as the world seemed to spin around me, I heard footsteps quickly approaching and then I saw darkness.

BlackJack stood over the girl's body with disdain in his eyes. Zera walked over with a wooden sheath by her side, the wooden sheath had a distinct feature of white squares of paper fluttering out from it. Zera blinked and smiled.

"BlackJack, you've grown so powerful!"

"Yeah..."

"Let's go, Wisteria is telling me that people will awaken soon, as is Brine,"

"I thought Brine was asleep?"

"She's awake now, and how about you be my ride?" Zera glanced at BlackJack. "Well?"

"Why not?"

BlackJack's features slowly morphed as he transformed into a black stallion. Zera squealed in excitement as she hopped onto his back. She clung onto his neck, stroking his mane.

"Let's go, to where the wind takes us, and to our new 'tomorrow'."

BlackJack neighed and began to canter out of the room. The sun flashed outside, melting a layer of frost outside.
