"Solitude"

Laugh, and you'll see the world laugh with you;
Weep, but you'll weep alone;
For the sad cohort claims its mirth,
But had made distress of its own.

Sing, and you'll hear yourself allover again;
Sigh, and it is lost on the air;
Echoes would bound to an effervescent sound,
But dwindle from it's voicing tutelage.

Exult , and people will look for you;
Mourn, and they'll turn and go;
They want full assess of all your pleasure,
But they do not need your melancholy.

Be delighted, for your friends are many;
Be dejected, and you'll lose them all,
Who they'd be to decline your ambrosia,
But alone you must drink life's gall.

Feast, coz your halls are crowded;
Fast, and the world goes by.
Succeed and give, and it helps you live,
But no man can help you die.

There is room in the halls of pleasure
For a huge and lordly train,
But one by one we must all file on
Through the narrow aisles of pain.
