"Dan!" I heard my best friend Frank Zhang call to me as I finish stuffing my football kit into my bag along with my shin pads and mouth guardI turn around and wave to my best friend and teammate before turning back and catching site of his purple t-shirt underneath the schools zip up hoodie which was black and red, the school colours he was also clad in blue jeans and worn converse and his gym back slung over his big shoulder. Frank Zhang looked like a solider  he had a big build and even had scars running down his arms but the baby face he had ruined the image making him look weaker than he was but don't let that fool you ask he is really strong thats why Coach Webber let him on the football team half way through the season "You ready to go? Jake is getting antsy" 

Jake Smith is the other part to our trio, who doesn't play football like me and Frank but still has that athletic build along with sandy blonde hair and blue eyes with a little bit if grey in the middle of his pupils, Jake always waited for Frank and I to finish football practice but if it ran late then he would get fidgety and not be able to sit still

"Yes Zhang let's go" I say slinging my own bag over my shoulder 

We walk out of the changing to see Jake leaning against the wall with his propped against it and he was scrolling through his phone, his eyebrows were pinched together and a from pulled at his lips and it didn't seem like he saw us walking out of the changing rooms because he didn't look up from his phone until I opened the changing room door again only to have it close with a slam which startles Jake out of his trance and causes him to look up at his surroundings his eyes darting back and forth widely before settling on Frank and I

"You were in your own little world there mate" Frank tells Jake who nods absentmindedly 

"Ναι διάβασα τα θνητά νέα και κάθε μέρα οι διαδηλωτές ενάντια στο είδος μας πλησιάζουν τα σύνορα των CHB και μόνο το θέμα του χρόνου πριν βρουν τον Ρωμαίο στρατό" Jake quickly rattles off to Frank who had to concentrate but seemed to understand what Jake was talking about which left me awkwardly standing in the middle of my best friends not having a clue as to what Jake was saying but before I could question him I found Jake  turning to me "I was just checking my text messages my mom had asked me whether I wanted to go back to Camp this weekend "

"μην ανησυχείς" Frank replies in the same language but doesn't sound as confident as Jake. It was weird because even though we were all friends in school, Jake and Frank knew each other from camp or something but they were from two different camps and only learned about the other camp last year I don't know when they tried to explain it to me when I first found out they knew each other outside of school 

"Είναι η Hazel να μας συναντήσει;" Jake asks Frank in the same rapid fire language they have been talking in for the last few minutes and I just raise my eyebrows in confusion but they just continue talking between them as if I wasn't standing between them, they did. this  sometimes and it was incredibly awkward but I just wait for them to stop because the one time I did ask them what the hell they were talking about they both turned to me and glared I haven't seen them do something like that before 

"Ναί" Frank replies with a deep red blush and Jake chuckles

"Ας πάμε τότε Zhang δεν θέλετε να κρατήσει κορίτσι μάγισσα περιμένει" Jake chuckles again to which Frank just shakes his head and begins walking to the front office with Jake and I, I had now managed to squeeze in between them and was laughing about old times when we heard a squeal coming from the main doors and Frank turned around with an excited look on his face, Jake smiled at the girl but rolled his eyes and I turned around to see a girl that looked no older than thirteen and had frizzy caramel hair and coco skin but her eyes are what made her stand out they were like melted gold

Before I knew it, the girl who had squealed was now in Fran's arm's after giving him a chastise kiss and snuggling him to Frank leaving me utterly confused and Jake to make a slight gagging motion at the apparent couple but was still smiling all the same leaving Frank to roll his eyes as the girl was facing away from Jake

Seeing my confusion Frank finally clarifies "Dan this is my beautiful girlfriend Hazel"

Hazel twisted around in Frank's arms a deep blush apparent on her cheeks and beams at me sticking out her hand for me "Hi Dan I'm --" But the introductions were cut short when a growl was heard and Frank Hazel and Jake all stiffened before pulling out different weapons and facing the huge dog with gleaming red eyes Jake shoots an arrow at its back when it turn's it's back to him in an attempt to get Hazel and it explodes in an explosion of gold dust 

For a minute I was speechless until I burst out "What the hell was that?" 

They all turn to me realisation dawning on their face "You saw that?"

"Well duh"

Jake looked me up and down "He's not Greek, He's one of you Minerva maybe? Or Venus"

"WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?" I shout at my friends, I wasn't one to loose my temper often I was usually calm and patient but this was way too confusing I had no idea what anyone was talking about

Frank put his hands up in surrender "We'll explain on the way but you need to come with Hazel and I now"

And that's how I found out I was a demigod.
