For whatever reason, trash cans and rubbish gins are disturbingly rare in Japan. Outside of convenience stores it can be a nightmare to find one.
The streets here, despite that, are shockingly clean because people just take the trash home with them if they can't find a bin.
Despite this, don't be tempted to litter.
