Chapter 1

A month after my new building was finished, I scheduled the ribbon cutting right away to officially open my publishing. It isn't grand and nothing fancy as it will just inaugurate the first day of the publishing. Ang tagal kong hinintay ang araw na ito at ngayon ay dumating na. I can't wait to start.

"Where are you?"

My bestfriend and my Creative Director, Lloyd, called to ask my whereabouts as I'm running late to the ribbon cutting ceremony.

"Naipit ako sa traffic. Start without me, don't delay the ceremony." I said while tapping the steering wheel frantically.

I do want to be there pero ayoko paghintayin ang ilang media na nandoon, we need to follow our said schedule. Hahabol nalang ako sa kung ano pa ang dadatnan ko.

"No." Matigas niyang sabi. "This is important to you, Bee. We will not start without you." Giit niya.

I sighed seeing that I have no chance on making it on time in the ceremony in this traffic. Halos hindi na gumagalaw ang mga sasakyan at kung hindi pa ako makakdating within an hour ay baka i-postpone pa ang ribbon cutting ngayon.

Tinitigan ko ang aking gym bag na nakapatong sa passenger side seat and luckily, I'm on the side of the road. Itinabi ko pa ang aking sasakyan ng kaunti sa gilid saka kinuha ang aking crop hoodie para makapagpalit and tied my long blonde-ish hair.

Tinupi ko ng maayos ang aking blouse at suit jacket and put it inside my gym bag pati na rin ang aking maliit na handbag then turned off my car.

Wearing heels and jeans won't stop me from running going to my building. Hindi na rin iyon kalayuan at sanay na ako sa paktakbo. I always do cardio workouts and all others to maintain my good physique. I don't have any other choice but to do this kung gusto kong makaabot ng oras para sa ribbon cutting.

I arrived exactly at the time of the ceremony and I swooshed passed the people to go to the bathroom to freshen up and change back to my business casual outfit.

Daig ko pa si The Flash sa bilis at paglabas ay kaagad kong hinanap si Lloyd para makapag-umpisa na. Madami na ang tao at lahat ay may kanya-kanya ng ginagawa.

"Bee!"

I turned around as I heard my friend calling me.

"Bug." Hingal kong sabi.

Mapagtaka niya akong tinignan saka inayos ang aking bangs.

"What? Do I look trash?" I asked worriedly.

"Far from it. Take a breather, I'll give you five minutes more and then we'll start."

I polished myself and checked my face on the glass partition before following Lloyd to where the ceremony is going to be held. I fixed my see-through bangs again and wrinkled my aquiline shape nose when I saw the freckles on my nose still evident.

Huminga ako ng malalim saka sumunod na sa kung saan nagpunta si Lloyd to start the ceremony. We can't delay this any longer. Babalikan ko pa ang Audi ko kung saan ko iniwan, I will just have to pray na hindi iyon ma-tow.

Ribbon cutting marks a very significant moment in business, it also makes a great photo opportunity that we can post online and in our magazines.

Lloyd handed me the ceremonial big scissors to cut the giant ribbon. I smiled all throughout as I'm feeling really happy to run my own business. Matagal ko rin na pinlano ito and now it's happening already, it's another chapter in my life.

I already knew what I wanted since before I graduated college. I have planned everything in my life, I already set my plans and goals ahead of time. Gusto ko na may guidelines nalang ako na sinusunod. I hate cramming especially in the last minute. I'm always ready and the road that I'm travelling isn't bumpy because of my smooth and organized planning.
