I never understood why I was cursed with a beauty so profound.
Women come to sing their praises,
but they look at me in envy.
Their eyes leer in admiration,
but they curse me under their breaths.
All men flock to see a vision so rare,
under my spell, they are lured.
They boast of their promise to take my innocence,
gloating on how they will violate my purity.
Can a lion relish its kill unless it has game to pursue?
Idle prattle in the mouth of a fool is as useless as a paralyzed dog.
A monstrous visage I sometimes covet,
but I laugh in the face of deceit,
for I know the gods have looked down upon me in favor.
For I am proud,
I am deadly,
I am Medusa....
