32. A Life Without Complaining

It's me again God,

Thank You for this new day to spend with You. I really am grateful for all You have given me to enjoy but I know that often, I find myself complaining and grumbling about things when they are not going well or as I planned. I am challenged by this because I know what Your Word says about this kind of attitude:

"My beloved ones, just like you've always listened to everything I've taught you in the past, I'm asking you now to keep following my instructions as though I were right there with you. Now you must continue to make this new life fully manifested as you live in the holy awe of God—which brings you trembling into his presence. God will continually revitalize you, implanting within you the passion to do what pleases him.

Live a cheerful life, without complaining or division among yourselves. For then you will be seen as innocent, faultless, and pure children of God, even though you live in the midst of a brutal and perverse culture. For you will appear among them as shining lights in the universe, offering them the words of eternal life."

Thank You for this great letter from Paul! I so want to live in holy awe of  You and to come trembling into Your presence! I really don't want to take my relationship with You for granted. 

Thank You that as I come to You in prayer,  You will revitalise me and implant in me a passion to do what pleases You. I so want to live a life that remains cheerful, without  grumbling! Please help me to live this way today and may I seek to have peaceful encounters with all I come into contact with because unity is so important to You.

I admit it is not always easy to live like this in a society where complaining seems to be encouraged but You have set me apart in the midst of a brutal and perverse culture. Lord, with Your Spirit in me, may I be that shining light today, speaking Your words of eternal life!
