Chapter 32 - moonlight

The night sky is dark and the starts shine brightly sadly there's no moon. Di bake masarap na din mag star gazing. After the party they threw for Xander and I, I decided to stay outside and stay in our cage swing. Everyone is already asleep since nagsleep over na ang barkada nila dito samantalang umuwi naman ang iba since kahit anong pilit ay hindi talaga kakasya sa bahay pag dito silang lahat natulog. I never thought na may plano pa sila na ganun. At mas lalong ikinabigla ko ang fact na alam nlang birthday ko ngayon.

"Done counting starts?" Nawala ang focus ko sa mga stars nang marinig ko ang tinig na iyon.

"Not yet" Pagsakay ko sa biro nito. He's wearing a simple white shirt and a short nang tumabi ito sa swing and start watching the stars as well. What's up with this guy?

There's a long silence between us. Just a mere star gazing at 1 in the morning.

"Thanks for the surprise party and happy birthday though it's an hour late." I looked at him and smile. And here's my abnormal heart beat again once he stared at me.

"I'm not part of that surprise party. I also don't have any idea na pati sila alam ang birthday mo." It only means that it's a party for both of us.

"Then both of us were surprised. Drew actually texted me if we're together. It's just a casual text since hindi tayo umattend ng huling klase kanina." Napangiti naman siya. So cute.

"You really are gullible and childish." Kinunotan ko naman sya ng ulo.

"Kwento mo yan sa kwarto mo" Pambabalik ko naman. His room looks like a room of a child. Hindi naman ito naiyamot sa halip ay ngumiti lang.

"Anyway, thanks for celebrating your birthday with us and celebrating my birthday with you. It's one of a kind. After so much years I feel like I'm celebrating my birthday with a family." He added. He just opened up on me.

"That's nothing since we are family. You are always welcome here like this house is also yours, that what friends are supposed to do, afterall ilang beses ko na bang naging utang ang buhay ko sa inyo?" I again looked at him ang there goes his deep stares and the moonlight is just making his eyes more wonderful and mysterious.

"It's already morning, aren't we going to sleep?" I asked para lang makaalis sa titig nya.

"Don't ask obvious questions. Sa daldal ni Drew surely you already know my life. That traumatic past keeps on haunting me. Tuwing ipipikit ko ang mga mata ko everything will flash back like it'll happen all over again. Everytime I'll sit in a passenger seat para na naman akong bumabalik bago mangyari yun. It's something I want to forget yet it keeps on coming back." Drew told me that you don't say what you really want and don't show what you really feel. Gusto kong sabihin yun sa kanya. What's this? I know that's the truth but why? Why are you telling me those things?

"Maybe because you heaven't learn something from that. You know when events happened and you actually didn't learn something you ought to learn then it'll happen again or haunt you down until you learn that thing." I almost whispered those last words. I really can't handle this, I really sleepy this time. I just felt I fell on a soft thing and it feels so comfortable. This is the first time we talked without sarcasm, without fighting just a simle talk and I like it.

"Good night Xander, happy birthday"

The sun is already rising and the sunshine strikes my skin. It's warm and this soft pillow beside me is so comfortable. And this bed of mine swings swiftly like it's a mother holding her child and birds whispering?! Since when did birds talk? Unti-unti kong iminulata ng mata ko only to find these young men in front of us grinning like idiots.

Agad ko namang naitulak ang tao sa tabi ko dahilan para lumagpak sya sa sahig. Such a nice way to greet good morning.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" He exclaimed habang hawak ang balakang nito.

"Iniintay lang naman naming kayong gumisng love birds. Just so you know mag-iisang oras na kaming nakatayo dito samantalang kayo ang himbing pa ng tulog."Brian explained. Love birds his ass.

"Asan si mama?" Hindi ko na lang pinansin ang mga sinabi nila.

"Kanina pa sya umalis. Naki-usap kami wag na lang kayong gisingin so you should thank us for the extended sleep." Paliwanag ni Trevor ng pataas taas pa ng kilay. My mom must be comfortable with me being around these guys. She should have trusted them so much para iwan ako at ang bahay sa kanila.

Tumayo na din kami ni Xander at pumasok na sa loob ng bahay. Nakahayin na ang pagkain pagpasok namin. We all look like housemates here, so cute.  Nakatulog na pala ako sa labas kagabi pati na din si Xander. I wonder kung nakatulog nga ba sya. Pero kung titingnan ang muha nya mukhang nakatulog naman sya.

Matapos magsikain at magpahinga ay sabay sabay na din silang umuwi. They still have to prepare for the party tonight. At dahil wala namang pasok ngayong umaga ay kailangan ko na ding maglinis at maghanda. Good thing at may mga pang make-up naman dito sa bahay.

Hours of waiting tunred to minutes. I still can't stop adoring this dress and shoes. With these I feel like I look like more of a human. I'm done applying light make-up when I heard the doorbell rang. Angg aga naman ata nila.

I hurriedly run towards the door only to find someone. This man.

"Woah, you look gorgeous." Yeah him and his compliments.

"May atraso ka pa sa akin, remember?" I said at saka ito pinapasok sa loob.

"Nagkaemergency nga kaya napilitan akong umalis. Babalik pa sana ako kaso di agad matapos yung naging problema." Ace explained.

"Anyway, you really look beautiful. But it'll be better if you'll not attend that party." That caught my attention. What the hell was that again? Pinagtaasan ko lang sya ng kilay at naghihintay ng kasunod.

"Sky, you don't know who you are dealing with. I'm telling you this as a friend and I'm doing this as more than that. Hindi ko alam kung hanggang saan kita kayang protektahan laban sa kanila. So stop dealing withn them." He said with conviction. Mas lalo ko syang hindi maintindihan ngayon.

"Protect me from whom? What the hell are you talking about Ace?" Halip na makakuha ako ng sagot ay isang yakap ang ibinigay nito bago umalis. SInundan ko sya sa labas he left a word bago tuluyang paandarin ang sasakyan at umalis.

"I'll protect you no matter what but please sundin mo ang mga sinasabi ko." With that pinaharurot na nya palayo ang sasakyan.

Ilang sandal din lang naman ay isa pang sasakyan ang pumarada sa harap ko. Agad nabago ang expression ng mukha ko ng makita ang taong ito sa harapan ko. He looked so manly.

"Woah, you look like an angel sent from God above. I'm starting ti think if I can court you?" Cool na sabi nito. Nginitian ko lang sya at saka sumakay sa sasakyan.

"Where's your date?" I asked Drew. He looked at me confused at saka panandaliang nag-isip.

"Ahh, yeah it was just a lie para samahan ka ni Xander at maisagawa naming ang surpride for both of you. Kelan nab a kami nakigpagdate. Maybe Trevor does but not all of us." He explained. Hindi naman ganoon katagal bago kami nakarating ng school. Sa likod ulit sya dumaan para magparada ng sasakyan.

"Park your car in front together along with the others. Pakisabi din sa iba." He stopped the car and looked at meconfusedly.

"You sound so creepy Sky. What's wrong?" He asked bago muling paandarin ang sasakyan at makinig sa akin.

"This place just gives me trauma just like what happened to Trevor." I lied. Honestly it was because of Ace. Because of what we told me when he hugged me.

"Stay ayaw from your department and stay with lots of people"
