Here is a list of almost every single note (in common time):
SEMIBREVE: 4 BEATS (1 in a bar)
MINIM: 2 BEATS (2 in a bar)
CROTCHET: 1 BEAT (4 in a bar)
QUAVER: 1/2 BEATS(You can fit 2 of these notes in one crotchet or 8 of them in a whole bar).
SEMIQUAVER: 1/4 BEATS(You can fit 4 of these notes in one crotchet or 16 of them in a whole bar).
DEMISEMIQUAVER: 1/8 BEATS: (You can fit 8 of these notes in one crotchet or 32 of them in a whole bar).
HEMIDEMISEMIQUAVER: 1/16 BEATS(You can fit 16 of these notes in one crotchet or 64 of them in a whole bar).
Semihemidemisemiquaver or Quasihemidemisemiquaver: 1/32 BEATS (You can fit 32 of these notes in one crotchet or 128 of them in a whole bar).
Demisemihemidemisemiquaver: 1/64 BEATS (You can fit 64 of these notes in one crotchet or 256 of them in a whole bar).
By adding a dot on the end of it, you increase the length of the note by 1.5%
By adding a double dot on the end of a note, you increase the length of the note by 1.75%
A tie combines two notes. For example, a crotchet (1) tied to a minim (2) is worth 3 beats (or a dotted minim in this case).
