The Road (2018)

They say the road is short

A simple route to a simple destination

Blooming skies and lush grass

Brown dirt etching a path

Don't worry, soon you'll be back

Sometimes they say the road is long

Extending mountain to forest to sea

A prolonged blossom that may not cease

Beauty swirling in shapes and colors

Telling you how much you matter

I have yet to find this road

Whether long or short,

It does not exist

Do I need a boat?

I wish I could find this path

Promised with treasure beyond math

For me, days are an internal struggle

Hopping second to second

Praying I won't become a wreckage

I have friends

Birch and Fern

My sisters Malia and Mei

But it's not the same

I need that road

Only if I knew where it claims
