***

It was a snowy night here in Michigan, my hometown. Christmas lights were shining bright from the neighbor's houses, giving a really nice and cozy look to the small street that was covered with the white fluffy snow that was lightly falling from the dark sky. There were some kids outside, playing with the soft snow that had been falling. They were doing everything you could imagine: from snow fights to building snowmen. The giggles and the happy squeals from the kids were loud enough to be heard around the neighborhood, drowning any other urban sound that might intervene.

"I really enjoy winter," my boyfriend smiled while he was looking through the window, which was a really common habit of him. "It reminds me of England."

"I promise we will go to visit your family there, baby," I sat down on his lap, kissing him on his recently shaved chin. He smiled sweetly at me and he pecked me on my lips, hugging me with his strong and tattooed arms. He brought me closer to his chest since it was really cold outside, peaking approximately 23°F.

"I'm cold," he muttered as he hugged me tightly.

"You aren't even wearing a sweater, how are you not supposed to be cold?" I giggled as I let myself rest on his lap.

"I got you as my blanket," he rested his chin on my head. "Fine, can you bring me my jumper?" he gave in.

"Did you mean a sweater?" I teased.

"Stop making fun of me!" he spoke with his strong accent. "I still have my mind in England."

"Do you also want a cup of tea?" I teased again, imitating his thick British accent.

"If it's not a burden, love."

"I was joking," I let go of him, standing up. I stopped copying his accent since he has teased me by saying that I do a terrible imitation of the accent.

"I was not," he clicked his tongue, "I want tea now."

"I can prepare some if you go and help me choose a tree for our lonely living room."

Oli sighed, "fine... but you promise making me some tea?"

"I promise," I grinned.

"Okay then," he stood up, "let me go and get my jump— sweater."

"Grab a coat and perhaps a beanie," I chirped.

"I regret cutting my hair," I heard him mumbling as he left to enter the room we shared. He recently cut his hair because he complained a lot about his old long hair. Everyday he was getting more and more annoyed with it, since it tangled quite a lot and had tons of split ends. In an act of desperation, he cut it by himself one day while I was at work. I remember coming back home with Oliver standing up, looking through the window with the lights turned off like he always does since he has this huge thing for admiring the outside world; I didn't recognize him, so I grabbed a bat that was literally next to the door and I walked closer to him, brandishing the weapon. I swung but Oli fortunately dodged it, immediately taking the bat away from me, as well as he hugged me. Of course I panicked and started screaming until he calmed me down, saying that he was no stranger but my boyfriend with really short hair.

"You were the one who decided in cutting it," I shrugged as I patiently sat down on the couch, waiting for Oliver to come back. He didn't take long when he came back wearing his oversized sweater and a coat over it.
