Friday

Martha happily agreed to babysit Chloe and Riley. So she is staying the night at Ethan's house.

For the past two hours, I've been convincing myself to be a little enthusiastic at least. And it's working!

I'm so so excited to see what food is going to be there!

After dressing up, I stand in front of the mirror, a smile on my face. The red bikini is clearly visible under the white backless dress I'm wearing.

Thank God my hair is cut into a bob. Mia spent almost an hour thinking about her hairstyle, only to end up deciding to leave it loose.

"Hey, Cass..." she trails off, coming out of the washroom. "Damn, girl!" she whistles lowly. "You look hot!"

"Thanks! But don't you think the dress is too...small? I mean, I'm not even going to swim!"  I huff.

"Okay, okay, go on then," she motions with her hand. "Wear your sweatpants and hoodie. Shut up, okay? You look hot!" she repeats.

I roll my eyes. "Thank you, but wish I could say the same to you, " I tease.

"Oh please, you don't have to tell me. I know I'm sexy, " she pouts seductively.

I shake my head at her. Mia was one of those effortlessly gorgeous kind of a girl, who could pull off a garbage bag. Currently, she is wearing a strapless lace maxi dress, showing her orange bikini straps.

"Let's go, yeah?" I nod and take my phone, then we go downstairs, where the boys are waiting for us.

My mantra tonight is to have fun and ignore Noah, which goes down the drain the second I spot him. He is sprawled lazily on the couch, scrolling through his phone, still managing to look mouth-watering in a white vest with blue and red stripes and white shorts.

I take my time admiring his oh-so-perfect body while thanking the Gods for creating such a masterpiece. When my eyes land on his face, the first thing I notice is that irritating smirk which brings me out of my daze.

When I look around, both Mia and Ethan are heading towards the door.

"They already left since you seemed busy, " he suddenly whispers, taking me off-guard at the closeness. He brings his hand on my waist, caressing my bare back while whispering in my ear, "You look damn hot too." making my heart stop beating for two seconds.

He then tugs on my arm. "Come on, we'll be late otherwise."

The party is really classy; fairy lights, tiki torches and all. It's late evening now and the sunset and beach atmosphere just adds to the...YOLO vibes, I guess? I'm already buzzing with energy without downing a single drop of alcohol.

"This is awesome!" I say and the others nod.

"Who's party is this, anyway?" Mia asks.

Like an answer, Bethany comes to us, a grin on her face. Bethany Williams organizes the best parties. That's what she is known for in our school. Well, that and the fact that she is super friendly. She talks to everyone in the school and doesn't care about the 'hierarchy' created in high school. She speaks to jocks, nerds, the in-betweens, people who still have that emo-phase going on, literally every-freakin-person. That's what makes her so likable.

"Ethan!" she hugs him and then comes over to me. "Hey, Cassie! Looking good, lady!"

"Thank you, Beth! You too!" I say as I take in her chiffon style long dress. "Nice party!" I compliment.
