This chapter was written for the second place winner of the latest contest- LilSnickerdoodle

Title: Periwinkle- because it's Emma's favourite colour and merry cheer for the theme of Christmas and the festive season.

Setting: This is set one year after Aurora and Thanatos' wedding.

Idea: Emma wanted a chapter that really focused on the couple, which had elements of love, tenderness and showcased the warmth of the festive season. She also wanted me to add some steam and a jealous Thany- which just adds more heat to this already cozy theme.

Thanks again Emma! It was amazing working with you and please enjoy! Xx

Periwinkle Snowflakes and Merry Cheer

"Have I told you that I'm not the biggest fan of snow?"

"Oh, stop." I shot Thanatos a pointed look, but my smile was full of amusement. He was trying me all day long.

It was the merriest time of the year and I'd taken the imitative to book us a private spa villa for the week at the most luxurious cabin lodge in Switzerland. Of course we'd spend Christmas with my parents back home in Caneyville, but before that, I thought it would be nice to get away with Thanatos for a while and relax.

If only Thanatos would relax.

"Good morning, madam. Sir." The receptionist was an elderly man with a large, black moustache. His eyes were kind and generous and his accent was thick. "Are you checking in with us today?"

"We are." I smiled back with an equally happy tone and nudged Thanatos for the booking confirmation. He lifted it up and handed it to the man. "We're staying for six nights."

"Ah, I see." The receptionist smiled broadly. "The Imperial Villa. Can I have your credit card, please?"

I handed him the black card with an excited smile. It was the first time after a year of being married that I was the one who organised us a trip away like this. Thanatos usually beat me to it, which is also probably why he was in such a sour mood.

Although, the main reason he was so bitter was because back home, Apollo, Hades and Poseidon were pulling him in all directions to 'fix' a little problem they had created. After the three rulers had decided to- against my strict advice- burrow and mine in an old and sacred valley owned by a forest clan of witches, the clan had retaliated and killed all the miners. Now, there was a mini-war going on in broad daylight and Thanatos' forces were being asked to step in and 'deal' with the situation. He was beyond annoyed.

Rightfully so, but now was the time of the year I wanted Thanatos to worry about nothing and just sit back and unwind.

A young porter dressed in a dark burgundy uniform walked up to us with a smile and grabbed Thanatos' black bag. "Don't scratch it." The man gulped when it felt like Thanatos' gold eyes were glaring a fiery hole through his forehead.
