You were laying on your bed with Bucky in a small apartment in Bucharest, Romania. Both of you all cuddled up in your small cocoon with Bucky sleeping on top of your chest. You were playing with his fluffy, majestic hair that was better than yours. Mindlessly thinking about the possibilities about the future. Possibilities that will happen tomorrow.
"I don't want you to go, Buck. I know what will happen, what if they arrest you? What if something bad happens to ya'? Tell me I'm wrong," You whispered against his hair, mind floating on clouds as your imagination got the better of you. Your heartbeat beating faster than it was supposed to and Bucky felt that, sending him a message to hold you tighter in his arms. Afraid to let go.
"I want to," His murmured more to himself. Voice croaky, raspy and deep. A deep sigh leaving his chapped lips.
"You said you'd give up everything for it,"
Bucky could sense the tiny tremble hidden behind your words. He knew you had your heart on your sleeves, and with one lift of his head. He saw you turning teary eyed, and you blinked and covered your eyes to hid your face from him. You just didn't want to let him go. All you wanted in your life was Bucky, even though it took him a lot of time to tell you everything, and you mean everything including the person he was before. Yet, that didn't stop you from loving him.
"I would. Just not you," Bucky gently grabbed your hands in his, affectionately pushing your hands away, and taking your tears in his thumbs, washing it away hopefully including your sadness. "I won't risk your life for me, Doll." He paused, memorizing every inch of your face. Wanting nothing but your face in his memories.
"I don't want you to get involved from what..what the Winter Soldier did. I'd rather risk my own life than yours,"
You sniffed, staring into those healing, Steele blue eyes that made you stay and by tomorrow, you knew he was broken yet again. "What if you forget about me again?"
Bucky carefully leaned in, scooping your jaw with his cold metal hand, sweetly touching his nose with yours as he closed his eyes. Wanting nothing but to live in your warmth that you could only give.
"I won't. Hopefully I won't this time," He whispered, his hot, minty breath fanning your lips. "You're like the kryptonite to this Winter Soldier,"
"You're the only one who can hold him down," Bucky honestly answered, wanting nothing more but to huff and chuckle from the truth. How could you even do that? You've did it before and there was no lies that you can't do it again. "I know you'll come back to me,"
Your lover hoped in the back of his fragmented mind, "Because once he's back, they'll try to find you,"
You felt his warm lips give you an innocent peck, leaning in to give you another, he had no plan to stop and so did you. "No matter where you are," He smiled as he kissed you a little more deeper than he intended to. "That man in the museum would find you. I know he will,"
"I'll come back to you," Bucky murmured against your lips, his metal hand travelling towards your hips and absentmindedly gently grabbing onto the flesh, an automatic move that he was used to do when you're around.
"Because you're the only way out, Doll."
