"What do you mean by he is not here? I am his sister. I have the right to know of his whereabouts," Carmela said as she glared at the guard outside of the gate of the mansion. Carmela and her husband arrived as early in the morning at her brother's mansion.

She was rather irritated that her brother was absent. The guard wouldn't tell her anything. She glanced at her husband who was standing behind her. He was feeling embarrassed at the whole situation. The expression on his face was an indication that he wasn't fond of her recent decisions.

"My dear husband, it would be best if you tell this...imbecile that he does not have the right to disrespect a woman," she said while staring at her husband to do what she says. Crisostomo blinked in surprise and forced a smile before replying, "O-Of course, dear."

She scowled at him and said, "You sounded unsure." He gulped and awkwardly shook his head. The guard watched their conversations with full curiosity. It was entertaining for him to witness a drama unfold.

"I would doubt your love for me if you continue this. Do I have any worth for you?" she said as she looked away and fanned herself with her fan. Her husband grabbed her hand and lovingly said, "Oh, you mustn't think that way. I truly love you. My actions may not seem so but I meant what I say."

"Hmm? I am not convinced with your simple flattery," she replied as she inched away from him for dramatic effect. The guard silence laughed and leaned his back against the gate. Interesting. I don't see this everyday. I always see the so called dragon of a girl but never this.

"Carmela, I-I..." Her husband stopped talking after realizing that they have an audience. The guard's face turned back to its original emotionless expression. Carmela glared daggers at the guard before saying, "Don't mind that...thing."

As they continued to argue, they failed to notice the a man walking towards the gate. The young man stared at them, looking at their appearances. Who are they? She seemed familiar.

Crisostomo froze upon seeing the new arrival. His wife followed his gaze to find someone she never expected to see. Her eyes widened upon realization. She felt like she got caught red handed. "Alexandro?!"

"Frowning is definitely fitted for your face

"Frowning is definitely fitted for your face. I can clearly see the reason why you often act like a cranky old woman," Lucián commented as he took in Violette's current appearance. They were at a birthday celebration of one of Lucián's friends.

He brought Violette with him in order for him to get away from women chasing him like prey. He absolutely despised young women who would often try to seduce him. It was clearly about the money and looks they are after.

"Excuse me? Even if I'm frowning, I still look good. Have you looked in the mirror lately? It's you who looks like an old man. You look way older than your age," she replied as she fanned herself with her hand fan. The inside of the dining hall was hot. The weather wasn't helping either.
